  • water - 40 grams (cream)
  • roasted nuts - 200 grams (cream)

Step-by-step preparation

  1. All Elenas will certainly be pleased to try this delicious cake.
  2. Preparation:
  3. Place sugar, margarine, eggs and honey in a saucepan. Heat the mixture, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent it from burning. Add soda, citric acid and mix well. Add flour and knead the dough. Let the dough rest for about 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 270-280 degrees. Divide the dough into 7-8 parts and roll out a thin cake from each part. Bake the cakes in the oven until golden brown. To prepare the cream, mix condensed milk, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Cool and mix with butter and then with chopped roasted nuts. Connect the cakes with cream, placing them on top of each other. Sprinkle the top of the cake with crumbs left over from trimming the cake layers and decorate with chocolate.

Separate the whites from the yolks and beat with a mixer until stiff foam, gradually adding 0.5 tbsp. Sahara.
Beat the yolks with a whisk with 0.5 tbsp. sugar, then add flour (mixed with cocoa and baking powder),
The dough will be quite hard - don't be alarmed.
Add the whites into the yolks and flour in parts, very carefully.
Bake in a round pan for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees, when the biscuit has cooled, cut into 3 layers.

Cream ---1---beat the butter and gradually add condensed milk.
Cream ---2--(-custard)- mix eggs with sugar, flour and 0.5 tbsp. milk, pour all this into the rest of the milk, which is about to boil. Stir constantly, remove from heat when it starts to gurgle, add butter and vanilla. Once cooled, beat lightly and mix with cream -1.
Cover the first two cakes with cream, prunes and walnuts.

Spread the last cake with cream, sprinkle with walnuts and chocolate (using a grater).

Let the sun shine in a peaceful sky
And the trumpet does not call for a hike.
So that only during training soldiers
He went forward to attack.
Let there be spring thunder instead of explosions
Piroda wakes up from sleep,
And our children sleep peacefully
Today, tomorrow and always!
Good health and happiness
To all those who defended our world.
And who is guarding him today?
And who repaid the debt to the Motherland in full!

There are times when you want something like that. To do this, I usually name a number from 1 to 18. Do you know why? I have just so many books on cooking, I constantly read them, watch them, even just for fun. They are always mixed up on the shelf and it is almost impossible to know in advance which account number this or that is.
The preparation of the menu for the coming days of experiments begins with the number. Having chosen a book (or even 2-3), I similarly select pages and recipes. Now the new dishes have been chosen, now all that remains is to buy food and cook...

A culinary recipe fell out of an old grandmother’s book, “We Invite to the Table,” worn out by time and housewives, for housewives and cooks of Soviet restaurants. This is a cake recipe that I admit I cook very rarely. Somehow I’m more into meat and fish than baking.

But I was surprised and delighted by this recipe already in the process of preparation. It turned out that everything was so easy and simple, and in the end - incredibly tasty, that now the Elena cake will be a regular guest on our family menu.

This time we didn’t have to go far for groceries. There’s no need to look for any capers or salmon caviar) Everything turned out to be much simpler, and was present in the refrigerator here and now.

Let me start the story.

WE'RE PREPARING THE DOUGH.

1) Weighed the oil and placed it in a water bath.

2) Meanwhile, measure out the flour and sugar. I pour it into a container and put the egg yolk in there.

3) Once the butter has melted and cooled down, you can pour it into the future dough.

4) I put 2 heaping tablespoons of homemade sour cream there. If you use store-bought liquid, then by weight you need to add 3 spoons.

5) Mix the ingredients to form a dough. At the end I added 1 tablespoon of cognac. We couldn’t find Roma in the bins :(

WE BAKE CAKES.
You need to bake cakes from the dough. I put the dough in a frying pan (mould, sheet, whatever is more convenient for you) without any paper, etc. and bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes over medium heat.

The resulting cakes are so cute and delicious in themselves:

The book says that the dough should be stretched into 5 cake layers, but I got 4. I think it’s because the pan is larger than a standard springform pan.
If the cakes break when you take them out, it’s no problem, we’ll put them all on the cake. And one more thing - you need to remove them from the pan while they are hot, otherwise they will stick.

WE'RE PREPARING THE CREAM.
1) I peel walnuts.

2) then I fry them a little.

3) and grind it using a blender.

4) add sugar to the chopped nuts

5) I pour hot (!) milk over it all:

6) add butter, previously melted in a water bath and cooled:

7) mix the whole mass, add vanilla sugar.

In general, the cream is ready. Despite the fact that there is a lot of oil here, it is not noticeable to the taste at all. The cream is delicate, nutty, delicious.

All that's left is nothing. FORMING THE CAKE.
Spread cream on the cakes.

The top of the cake is glazed with chocolate. To do this, I melt the chocolate in a water bath, add literally 1 tbsp. l. water (maybe milk).

I pour chocolate over the cake. And I put it in the refrigerator. The book states that the cake should sit there for two days before eating, for me it was about 1.5.

The only downside is that some of the chocolate spilled over the dish. I concluded that it was time to go to a kitchenware store and buy either a springform pan or a dish with a side...

It turns out to be a very tasty (really very!) cake. These are 8 pieces if you cut them. If you are planning a birthday, it is better to take a double dose of the ingredients. The cake will turn out taller and bigger.

All my family rated the cake “excellent.” Elena especially appreciated it :))

I advise you to try it. Labor costs are minimal. Even a baking beginner (like me) can make this dessert, and the ingredients are quite affordable.

I didn’t count calories this time. I know a lot, so we close our eyes, turn off the calculator and enjoy dessert.

Thank you for your attention, Zoya :)

P.S. The price indicated is for the entire cake. And the cooking time does not take into account soaking.
