Delicious bread pies: with different fillings

Bon appetit to everyone and have a warm evening with your family.

If your family is asking for pies, and you simply don’t have time to make dough, this recipe for lazy pies will come to the rescue.

All you need to prepare them is pieces of bread and any filling. They are made in literally five minutes; you can make several types of filling at once to please everyone at home. This is my favorite recipe: simple, quick and very tasty. The pies turn out golden brown, juicy inside, with a crispy crust.

Product composition

  • pieces of bread (it is better to take sliced bread for toast);
  • a lot of odorless sunflower oil - for frying.

For filling

  • mashed potatoes + minced meat + greens;
  • boiled rice + eggs + greens;
  • slices of cheese.

Step-by-step cooking process

  1. I don’t indicate the number of ingredients: focus on the number of eaters.
  2. The filling for lazy pies must be prepared in advance. The ideal option is to use what is in the refrigerator.
  3. I offer three filling options. You can take my advice, or you can prepare your own filling: go for it.
  4. First filling: mix the mashed potatoes left over from the evening with any minced meat and finely chopped dill or parsley. First fry the minced meat in a frying pan with onions and carrots (in a small amount of vegetable oil).
  5. Second filling option. Boil rice in salted water in advance, add finely chopped hard-boiled eggs to it. Add finely chopped greens and mix thoroughly.
  6. The third filling is the lightest - slices of hard cheese.
  7. The entire further cooking process will take no more than ten minutes.
  8. You can use any bread, but I prefer pre-sliced toast bread. Cut off all the crusts from the pieces of bread.
  9. Take one piece at a time, put it in a bowl of water, soak it a little and squeeze out the excess liquid.
  10. Place about a tablespoon of filling on the bread and form a pie with your hands (just carefully squeeze the bread on all sides).
  11. Pour a lot of vegetable oil into a deep frying pan (as for deep frying), heat it up and lay out the pies.
  12. Fry until golden brown: about three minutes on each side.
  13. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to remove excess fat.

Recipe 7: Casserole with Ham and Tomatoes

There's nothing easier than taking your favorite breakfast ingredients, throwing them in a baking dish and popping them in the oven. If time allows, you can prepare a baking dish in the evening, lay out all the ingredients and pour beaten eggs and milk over them. Overnight, the bread, like a sponge, will absorb the egg mixture and you will get an incredibly tasty casserole with a crispy crust and a delicate cheese layer.

  • Butter
  • 1 loaf of white bread
  • 350 g grated Cheddar cheese
  • 8 small tomatoes or 16 cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 350 g ham, cut into cubes
  • 10 chicken eggs
  • 3 glasses of milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For this recipe, a slightly stale loaf or dense, not crumbly bread is best. So, grease a high-sided ceramic baking dish with butter. Cut the loaf into small slices or triangles. Line the bottom of the baking dish with the loaf pieces in a single layer.

Sprinkle the bread with half the grated cheese. You can replace the cheddar with your favorite cheese. Place half the chopped tomatoes and half the ham on top of the cheese. Place another layer of bread. Sprinkle it with the remaining cheese (reserve 2 tablespoons of grated cheese for the top layer) and top with the other half of the tomatoes and ham. Place a third layer of bread on top.

In a small bowl, beat the eggs and milk and pour the mixture over the bread into the baking pan. Lightly press the bread slices with your fingers and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

If time allows, place the baking dish in the refrigerator overnight, covered with a lid or cling film. Before baking, remove the casserole from the refrigerator, remove the cling film, and let the casserole rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Bake the casserole in an oven preheated to 190 C for 55-60 minutes until golden brown. You can cover the casserole with foil if the top starts to burn. Cool the finished casserole for 10 minutes, cut into squares and serve. Bon Appetit!

Recipe 8: casserole of apples and black bread

  • black bread (stale) - 400 g (you can take fresh bread and dry it in the oven)
  • apples - 400 g (or other fruits/berries, I have red currants)
  • sugar - 100 g (brown can be used)
  • butter - 100 g
  • milk - 240 g
  • egg - 2 pcs.
  • cinnamon - 1 tbsp. (or to taste)

Grind the stale black bread on a grater (it is very convenient to grind the crackers in a blender), mix with cinnamon and some sugar.

Peel the apples, remove the core, cut into slices (or prepare other fruits; frozen berries must first be thawed).

In a mold greased with butter, place in layers: bread, pieces of butter, slices of fruit (berries), sprinkle with sugar, again bread, butter, fruit, etc. The top layer is bread.

Pour the egg-milk mixture over everything and bake in the oven at 180 C for about 30 minutes.

Recipe 9: loaf pie baked with chicken

This is a great option for a hearty breakfast or lunch that you can take with you and heat up in the office in the microwave.

  • 1 loaf;
  • 150-200 grams of boiled chicken fillet;
  • 150-200 grams of smoked ham;
  • 1 tomato;
  • 100 grams of hard cheese;
  • vegetable oil for greasing the mold.

We cut the loaf into 2 parts lengthwise, as you see in the photo. It turns out the lower part and the top. We will need exactly the lower part.

Using a knife, carefully remove the crumb from the bottom. It turns out we have a kind of boat. In which we will place the filling. We will no longer use the crumb itself, which we took out, as well as the top of the loaf for this recipe. You can set them aside and use them, for example, with minced cutlets.

Well, now let's get straight to the filling. Actually, it can be anything you like. You can make it from mushrooms, or from vegetables. But this time I wanted something filling, so I took ham and chicken. Cut the ham into small cubes.

We do the same with boiled chicken fillet.

We also cut the tomato into cubes. If you have a juicy tomato, that’s good: it means the filling will be juicy. The most important. so that the tomato is tasty and ripe.

Grate hard cheese.

In a separate container we put the chicken fillet, ham, tomato and about 2/3 of the total amount of grated cheese. Mix.

Grease the baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. Place the filling into the loaf and place it in the mold. As you remember, we still have some grated cheese left. We sprinkle it on top of the stuffed loaf.

And we send the form with the loaf to the oven, preheated to 200 degrees. We have all the ingredients ready. Therefore, we just need to wait until the cheese melts. This will happen quite quickly: after 10-15 minutes you will be able to remove the loaf from the oven. Do not leave it there too long, otherwise the loaf itself will become hard and it will be inconvenient to eat.

Remove the loaf from the mold, cut into portions and serve immediately while it is still hot.

Recipe 10: pizza loaf with tomatoes (step by step)

  • 1 loaf,
  • 150-200 g boiled chicken (or boiled meat, or fish, or sausage, or seafood),
  • 150 g cheese,
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 sweet pepper,
  • ketchup,
  • dill, parsley,
  • green onions.

It is advisable to take a loaf that is not very fresh. It is more convenient to cut, and it holds its shape better with a juicy filling. Cut the loaf into slices 12 mm thick.

Dilute ketchup with water to the consistency of kefir. You can also dilute tomato paste, but in this case you need to add not only water, but also salt, sugar and spices to taste.
