With lemon or orange

When baking such a cupcake, simply mind-blowing aromas spread throughout the house. And the combination of citrus and poppy always gives a special taste to baked goods. To prepare, we will need all the ingredients of the main recipe, as well as two lemons and 3-4 tbsp. Sahara. Mix the dough according to the basic recipe. Using a fine grater, remove the zest from one lemon without touching the white pulp. Mix the zest with the dough and bake the cake. From the second lemon, thinly remove the zest with a vegetable peeler and cut it into thin strips. Fill them with a glass of water and cook until soft. Squeeze the juice from the lemons into another bowl, add powdered sugar and bring to a boil. Add the zest and cook for another 4-5 minutes over low heat. Without removing the finished cake from the mold, pierce it with a skewer in several places and fill it with lemon syrup. Let it brew and cool. This is also done. There are also other recipes on the site.

Filled with poppy seeds and cherries

We will need a glass of pitted cherries and 1-1.5 tbsp. starch, plus everything that is indicated in the basic recipe.
If you have frozen cherries, first defrost them in a sieve to remove excess liquid. You can also do this with canned cherries. Knead the dough as indicated in the recipe, but without poppy seeds for now. Set aside a fourth part and mix it with poppy seeds. Place half of the white dough into a greased mold with a hole. In the middle, in a circle, lay out a strip of poppy seed. Dip the cherries in flour and spread over the poppy seeds. Cover the top with the remaining white dough. Bake, cool and serve

In our Polish-Ukrainian family, baked goods with poppy seeds appear with the onset of winter and bring a lot of joy to the household, since they are a definite harbinger of the holidays, long before their onset. This recipe is special and I got it from my Polish mother-in-law, and I will pass it on to my children, and now I am sharing it with you. It has a special taste and is one of the most delicious cupcakes I have ever tried. Therefore, it’s definitely worth baking it for the holidays and beyond.

The recipe for this cupcake also appeared in a printed version in the December issue of the Ukrainian publication "Liza. Bon appetit" 12/2015.

The ease of making this poppy seed cake is that you don't have to do anything with the poppy seeds first, like most poppy seed cake recipes. Just knead the dough step by step and bake. And if you have the patience, after cooling, wrap it in foil and leave for a day and only then savor it. After a day, the taste and texture of the poppy seed cake becomes even better. The taste becomes more expressive, and the cake itself seems more moist and tender.

In principle, after baking and cooling, such baked goods with poppy seeds, nuts and dried fruits are better preserved wrapped in foil in the refrigerator. The cake does not dry out, and the flavors become even more expressive every day.

How to quickly and deliciously bake poppy seed cake

  1. You should start by mixing sour cream and granulated sugar. To dissolve sweet grains quickly, it is best to arm yourself with a mixer.
  2. Next, add a raw egg to the sweet dough base and mix well.
  3. To make the baked goods soft and loose, add soda to the dough.
  4. At the very end it will need to be thickened with flour. We will need about 1 glass of it. You should focus on the thickness of the dough - it should turn out a little denser than for pancakes.
  5. Now we need a coffee grinder or food processor to grind the poppy seeds. In the absence of these kitchen units, you can use my grandmother’s proven method - fill the poppy seeds with water in advance, leave for a couple of hours to swell, then remove excess moisture, mix with 1-2 tbsp. sugar and grind in an unfired clay pot or mortar until the “milk” is released from the grains.
  6. All that remains is to add the filling to the dough and mix it until perfectly homogeneous.
  7. Cover the inside of the walls and bottom of a silicone or sliding metal mold with a thin oil film, sprinkle with breadcrumbs (dry semolina will also work), transfer the dough and, having leveled it, send it to the oven, which has already been preheated. We place it at the same distance from the upper and lower heaters.
  8. After closing the lid, immediately reduce the heat to low.
  9. When the contents of the pan have doubled in volume, move it closer to the top of the oven to bake the top of the pie. Average baking time is 35 minutes.

When it is ready, let it cool at room temperature, and then sprinkle with powdered sugar or pour one of your favorite sweet fudges. You can taste it!

Today's recipe is dedicated to lovers of baking with cottage cheese. We suggest you try making cottage cheese cake with poppy seeds. Small bite size cupcakes are fine, but more fuss. But the cake is in one form - both beautiful and fast!
The cake can be baked either in the now popular silicone mold or in a metal one, just don’t forget to grease it. This condition is mandatory, since the cottage cheese in the dough melts and tends to stick to the mold.

We will prepare cottage cheese cake with poppy seeds in the oven. If you bake it in a slow cooker, you will get an excellent poppy-curd pie.

Ingredients:

  • Sugar - 200 grams,
  • Butter - 100 grams,
  • Cottage cheese - 200 grams,
  • Poppy poppy - 2 tablespoons,
  • Baking powder - 2 teaspoons,
  • Wheat flour - 200 grams,
  • Eggs - 3 pieces,
  • Vanillin - optional
  • Salt - a small pinch
  • Vegetable oil for greasing the mold.

Cooking process:

Lightly beat the eggs and sugar, add melted or softened butter to them. Attention, the oil should not be hot to prevent the eggs from curdling! Next, mix cottage cheese into the future cake dough and add dry poppy seeds.

Sift the flour together with baking powder and dry vanillin. Gradually stirring, add to the egg-curd mixture and knead the dough. The dough is not very thick, like for pancakes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease the pan with oil. Place the dough with cottage cheese and poppy seeds into it.

Bake in a well-heated oven until golden brown (about 40-50 minutes, it all depends on the shape). The readiness of the poppy seed cake is checked with a wooden stick or match. There should be no raw dough left on its surface.

We take the poppy seeds out of the oven, let them stand in the pan for a couple of minutes, and then turn them over onto a plate.

Cool the poppy seed cake and cool it. Now you can boil the kettle and call everyone at home to the table! We thank Svetlana Kislovskaya for the recipe and step-by-step preparation photos.
