“In the first year of my life together with my husband, I, like, I think, most girls, conducted culinary experiments in the kitchen in order to surprise and amaze my now husband with my culinary talents. According to the recipe in the magazine, I just needed to put the meat, pepper, salt, throw pineapples on top and bake, but somehow this didn’t seem enough to me and I decided to really experiment. From the bins I took out a jar of honey and a pack of cloves.

The dish was prepared just in time for the arrival of your loved one. To say that he was surprised is an understatement, but after trying my first “exotic masterpiece,” he clapped his hands with satisfaction. Now I understand that the taste of sweet chicken came to us from the countries of the East, and at that time for us the combination was something completely incomprehensible, but no less tasty. We devoured each piece with appetite and realized that this was not enough, so according to the plan, we had an evening walk with a route - grocery store/refrigerator/stove.

Fortunately, we only needed to buy more meat, because there were plenty of other ingredients left. We prepared the second portion together and my husband was always surprised: How did I finalize the recipe and wasn’t afraid that by deviating from the letters in the magazine I could ruin everything, including dinner.

The second portion seemed even more delicious to me. Most likely, her secret was a double dose of love, the absence of fear of failure and sincere hope and belief in success.

It is necessary to work with properly defrosted, or even better, chilled meat, otherwise it will simply fall apart into pieces. First, we clean the fillet from all unnecessary things: fat, cartilage, skin, remaining bones.

The fillet must be beaten. This can be done using cling film and a special hammer. If there is neither one nor the other, it’s okay, a simple package will suit us just fine. Place the meat in the middle.


When working with chicken fillet, it is better not to use an iron kitchen hammer, as the meat is very tender. And the film is needed to prevent the meat from scattering in pieces all over the kitchen.
The upper part of the breast is much thicker than the lower part, so when beating, we will pay special attention to it. We need to beat it to about 0.7–1 cm thick.

Ideally, you can take fresh pineapple, but often this is quite expensive, so we take canned pineapple rings in its own juice. This means unsweetened tasting syrup, in other words. If there are other citrus fruits (oranges or lemons) at home, add their juice to the syrup. And if using fresh pineapple, you can use orange juice.
