Mashed buckwheat

Components:

Components:

  • apple and honey pear - half each;
  • dried apricots – 30 g;

The menu of a child at 8 months of age should be balanced. There is no particular difference between bottle-fed babies and breastfeeding. Unless the artificial baby needs more nutritious food, but a baby at this age can have mother’s milk and food in a 50:50 ratio, since he receives almost all the substances the child needs from his mother.

The baby can already eat a lot, but it is still worth carefully introducing him to new foods. New food is introduced into the diet gradually to observe the reaction of the baby’s body. You can add new products to your favorite dishes - then they will be perceived better.

The first (after sleep) and last feeding (before bed) should be formula or breast milk!

What products are possible?

What to feed a baby at 8 months? Definitely porridge. You can prepare corn, rice, and oatmeal porridge separately, or you can make an assortment of several cereals. It is better to do this with cow's or goat's milk, diluted a little with water.


In addition to cereals, the baby should eat:

  • vegetables (all varieties of cabbage, zucchini, potatoes, pumpkin, onions, carrots);
  • fruits (apples, bananas, pears, peaches);
  • berries (currants, raspberries, blueberries, cherries);
  • meat (veal, rabbit, turkey, chicken);
  • eggs (no more than one egg twice a week);
  • fermented milk products (cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt);
  • herbs (parsley, green onions, dill);
  • legumes (beans, peas);
  • fish (lean fillet).

There has been debate about this last point for a long time. Some mothers say that it is too early to give fish at such a young age, others insist that fish contains substances necessary for proper brain activity, which is important during the period when the baby is learning about the world. Remember that the child’s diet is thought out only by the mother, who sees her child and his reaction to different foods.

What products are prohibited?

There are also a number of foods that are undesirable in the diet of an 8-month-old child. We won’t write about chips, crackers, store-bought sweets, mayonnaise, etc., because this goes without saying. In addition, it is better not to give your baby:

  • melon;
  • watermelon;
  • kiwi;
  • nutritional yeast;
  • bread;
  • flour;
  • fat;
  • spicy;
  • sweets (marshmallows and similar sweets);
  • sausage and other raw smoked products.

You should not add salt, spices or sugar to your child’s food; you can only season it with sunflower oil or butter for taste. Also, if an 8-month-old child is breastfed or bottle-fed, you need to remove everything to which he has allergic reactions, diarrhea or constipation.

This is what the daily menu for an 8-month-old child looks like, but all children are unique: some eat complementary foods from 4 months, while others are just getting acquainted with them at 8 months. For children, only the regimen itself remains unchanged: feeding occurs 4-6 times a day, leaving an interval of about 4-5 hours. Some people eat when they wake up in the middle of the night. Try not to overfeed your baby at night so that his body also rests during sleep.

Menu for a bottle-fed 8-month-old baby or on the chest it doesn’t have to look exactly like that. Adjust it at your discretion, ask your pediatrician, and most importantly, watch the baby. If your baby doesn’t like the product, try giving it a little at a time, mixing it with other products. The child completely refuses to eat, for example, broccoli, “calculating” in any puree? Stop feeding her and try again after a few months.
