How to make vanilla syrup at home?

You will need the following components:

  1. 1 cup brown sugar
  2. ½ glass of water
  3. And most importantly, for cooking you will need to take a vanilla pod, or rather vanilla beans.

Today they can be purchased in grocery stores in the spice aisle.

So this is a very expensive product, they are sold in 1-2, maximum three pieces.

Do you know why? But because vanilla pods are the fruits of the vanilla orchid, which become so expensive due to the complex and lengthy technological processing process and the difficulty of growing. Bourbon vanilla is considered the best.

Vanilla pods are the best helper in the fight against stress. Its aroma stimulates the production of the hormone of joy - endorphin. The spice is a powerful aphrodisiac.

I usually buy them at a specialized spice store, but I came across this pod in an ordinary supermarket (costs 80 rubles), the quality is not bad, especially for syrup.

The most valuable thing is inside him.

Using the tip of a sharp knife, cut the pod from top to bottom, open it, all you will find there are seeds or vanilla beans, they need to be carefully scraped into a saucepan in which we have already mixed sugar and water.

Place the pan over medium heat, bring to a boil, and stir until the sugar dissolves.

Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool completely in the pan.

When the syrup has cooled to room temperature, pour it into a resealable container or bottle through a fine sieve.

This vanilla syrup should be stored in the refrigerator and used within two weeks.

You can get a little creative and add cinnamon or syrup, which is what I did this time, it turned out very tasty!

By the way, do not throw away the empty pod, but put it in a hermetically sealed jar with sugar. In a week you will have fragrant vanilla sugar.

Try it and may everything be delicious!)

Alena Yasneva was with you, bye everyone!
