Beef meatballs with steamed rice. Steamed beef meatballs. Children's steamed minced meatballs-hedgehogs with rice in a slow cooker

Every housewife probably cooks meatballs often. Of course, we make them in gravy, with the addition of rice. It turns out very tasty and satisfying. And today I wanted to cook meatballs with raw cabbage added to the minced meat. It gives the minced meat tenderness and softness, so the meatballs simply melt in your mouth. These meatballs are also called lazy cabbage rolls, but only by their composition of products can they remind us of. That is why they have the prefix “lazy”. Believe me, having prepared these “stuffed cabbage rolls” at least once, you will probably start making them much more often. Moreover, the dish itself becomes more healthy with cabbage, and we steam it, so, provided that we use lean pork (or even beef and any other meat), even a child can eat such meatballs. After all, all the fat drains into the bowl during cooking. The most common sauce served in lazy cabbage rolls is ketchup (tomato sauce) and of course sour cream (or mayonnaise).

Required:

  • Pork - I have the shoulder part - 1 kg.
  • Cabbage - 1/4 - 1/3 of a small fork.
  • Onions - 2 pcs.
  • Garlic - 3-4 cloves.
  • Eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Salt and pepper - to taste

How to cook steamed meatballs in a slow cooker:

To be honest, I cooked meatballs with cabbage for the first time and I liked them so much that now I think I will add cabbage very often to the minced meat, because the meat dish turns out even tastier, juicier, with the aroma of cabbage. Well, very tasty. I make it with shredded cabbage. Shredded cabbage is also added to the minced meat and wrapped in roll dough and also steamed.

The dish is simple and tasty. So it is with my cabbage meatballs, they taste very similar to lazy manti, only there is not enough dough. Therefore, I hasten to tell you how to cook meatballs with cabbage or, in other words, many housewives call them lazy cabbage rolls. Everything is extremely simple and fast. We pass the chopped, prepared meat with onions, garlic and of course cabbage through a meat grinder. Then add eggs, salt and pepper to taste to the resulting minced meat.

Mix thoroughly. I beat the minced meat a little more directly in the bowl, simply dumping the minced meat into the bowl. I do this for about 2-3 minutes. When I have minced the minced meat, I immediately put on the multicooker, pour water (about 1 liter) into the bowl and turn on the STEAM COOKING mode for 25 minutes. I roll fairly large balls of minced meat and place them in a steamer bowl.

I get 6 meatballs each. Perhaps you will make smaller meatballs - this is at your discretion, but then the cooking time for steaming our meatballs will decrease slightly, by at least 5 minutes. The power of my new multicooker is 860W. We close the lid and wait for the multicooker to notify us that the meatballs are ready.

I put frozen broccoli in the first portion of meatballs; I served it as a light vegetable side dish. When the multicooker notified us that the dish is ready, carefully open the lid and remove the cabbage meatballs onto a plate. Then we add the next batch of meatballs and steam them again. Of course, you can cook the meatballs in a double boiler at once, adding all the meat balls at once. You do this at your own discretion.

Serve at home with any favorite side dish or as I do - with steamed vegetables and fresh tomatoes. I also suggested tomato sauce and mayonnaise for the meatballs (it can be replaced with sour cream). Decorate the dish with fresh herbs on top. This is the portion my husband received.

And this is my portion, which I shared with my son.

He also eagerly ate tender meatballs with cabbage. I'm sure everyone will like these meatballs. Especially this recipe should be used by those loving mothers whose children do not eat cabbage well. And here you can safely offer the little bully a whole meatball, which he will gobble up with great pleasure, and maybe ask for more.

Svetlana and my family wish you all a bon appetit website!

Cooking meatballs in a steamer with meat and rice:

Since we will be preparing a meat dish, it is necessary to pay special attention to the choice of the main ingredient - meat. To cook meatballs in a steamer with meat and rice, it is best to use minced meat made from lean beef.

Grind the meat in a meat grinder - it is advisable to use a not very fine grate. Please pay special attention that we do not add onions to the minced meat, so the meatballs turn out incredibly tender and have a bright taste of meat.

Rice can be taken raw, or steamed. For the best taste of dietary meatballs, do not cook the rice, but pour boiling water over it and leave for about 15 minutes.

After the rice has been sufficiently nourished, it can be added to the meat - there should be half as much rice as minced meat.

Mix very well, add salt and your favorite spices.

You can add one fresh egg to the minced meat to prevent the meatballs from falling apart, but if you cook without eggs, the meatballs will be more tender and juicier. But to do this, you will need to knead the minced meat very well, and then keep it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.

From the finished minced meat we form small meatballs - about 3 centimeters in diameter and place them in a steamer dish.

While you're cooking the meatballs, turn on the steamer to heat the water - this will reduce cooking time and keep the meatballs intact. When the meatballs are placed in the mold, close the lid tightly and set to cook.

Usually it takes 30-35 minutes to prepare the dish - it all depends on the degree of readiness of the rice. Ready-made meatballs can be served with a side dish of boiled potatoes; if you are on a diet, use buckwheat, boiled in water, without adding oil.

For a brighter taste, you can add a spoonful of low-fat sour cream and fresh herbs - wash well in running water and finely chop with a knife. A homemade recipe would also be an excellent addition to these meatballs.

Bon appetit.
