We offer 5 of the best sweet recipes from childhood and a selection of cooking tips.

Recipe 1. Chocolate sausage made from cookies and cocoa

Classic recipe for chocolate sausage. By the way, why is it called that? When cut, the sausage with large pieces of biscuits resembles cervelat. Sometimes it turns out so believable that you can make fun of meat lovers by offering them “sausage”.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g shortbread sweet cookies (any, for example, “Yubileinoe” or “For tea”);
  • 250-300 g sugar;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 3 teaspoons cocoa;
  • nuts (any) - 50-100 g.

Ingredients:

  1. Mash the butter with a fork. It is good if it was stored in the refrigerator and did not harden too much.
  2. Make coarse cookie crumbs. To do this, break it up with your hands or using a blender.
  3. Add sugar to butter.
  4. Place the pan over low heat and heat the oil for about 3 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  5. Break the eggs into a separate bowl, stir and pour into the pan.
  6. Add cocoa and stir.
  7. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  8. Pour the mixture over the broken cookies.
  9. Add nuts, preferably chopped. Mix everything well.
  10. Place a small amount of the mixture on a plastic bag and form 3 small (do not make it too thin or, conversely, thick) sausages.
  11. Place them in the refrigerator for a few hours to completely harden.
  12. Take out the dessert, cut and serve with tea.

Advice! Use butter for making sausages without vegetable additives, with a fat content of at least 82.5%. It costs more, but you will appreciate the difference in taste.

Recipe 2. Sausage with condensed milk

Special creamy taste - sausage with the addition of condensed milk! In such cases, granulated sugar is not used - it is included in condensed milk.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 kg of cookies;
  • can of condensed milk;
  • pack of butter;
  • 5 teaspoons cocoa powder.

Advice! If the condensed milk is not thick enough and the quantity of cookies is limited, do not use the whole jar.

Preparation:

  1. Soften the butter, but do not melt. It is better to take it out of the refrigerator in advance (a few hours before cooking or overnight).
  2. Turn the cookies into crumbs.
  3. Mix the butter and cookies, you should get a loose mass - then the condensed milk will stick to the “dough” more easily.
  4. Pour in condensed milk.
  5. Add cocoa.
  6. Stir and evaluate: if the condensed milk was too runny, add some more cookies.
  7. Form a sausage using a bag or parchment paper. To do this, spoon the mass onto the sheet, wrap it and roll it out on the table. The dough will be evenly distributed and you will get a perfectly shaped sausage.
  8. Place in the refrigerator and wait 3-4 hours. You can eat!

Recipe 3. Chocolate sausage made from cookies with boiled condensed milk

This version of dessert is higher in calories: per 100 grams - 430 kcal.

Ingredients:

  • 350 g cookies;
  • 400 g boiled condensed milk;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 40 g cocoa;
  • 50 g peanuts or other nuts.

Advice! Crushing cookies by hand is tedious. Place it in a strong plastic bag, tie it and roll it over with a rolling pin. A blender or food processor will do the job perfectly - just watch the size of the pieces so as not to get sand from the cookies.

Preparation:

  1. Soften the butter in a water bath or leave it at room temperature.
  2. Grind the butter with a mixer, gradually adding boiled condensed milk.
  3. Crush the cookies by hand or using a blender. It depends on how large you like your pieces. Another option is to pass the cookies through a meat grinder.
  4. Place cookies in a bowl with butter.
  5. If the peanuts are raw, fry them in a frying pan for a few minutes. The combination of salted nuts and a sweet base is popular; it is used in Alpen Gold chocolates. So you can try roasted, lightly salted peanuts.
  6. Add nuts and cocoa to the mixture.
  7. Mix everything thoroughly.
  8. If the mass is too thick, pour in a little milk or condensed milk.
  9. Form chocolate sausages using a plastic bag and place in the refrigerator to harden.
  10. After a few hours, cut up the treat and serve it to everyone!

Recipe 4. Chocolate sausage with marmalade

Children will love this dessert for its colorful pieces and fruity notes.

Ingredients:

  • 70 g marmalade, preferably without sugar sprinkles;
  • 200 g cookies;
  • 1/2 can of condensed milk;
  • 1/2 stick of butter;
  • 3 tbsp. spoons of cocoa (instant or for cooking);
  • vanillin - to taste.

Advice! Instead of marmalade, take candied fruit (soft) - they are closer in consistency to cookies, so the dessert will be more harmonious.

Preparation:

  1. Beat condensed milk and butter with a mixer.
  2. Crush the cookies.
  3. Add the pieces to the butter, add vanilla and cocoa powder.
  4. Chop the marmalade that is too large and add it to the mixture.
  5. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and roll into sausages. The dough is enough for 2 servings.
  6. Place in the refrigerator for 1.5-2 hours.
  7. Serve with tea or cocoa, garnish with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

Recipe 5. For the bravest

A non-childish recipe that you can treat yourself and your friends to. A little cognac or liqueur turns chocolate sausage into a delicious dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g cookies;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of cocoa powder;
  • 100 ml milk (or cream);
  • 150 g butter;
  • 70 g dark chocolate;
  • vanillin on the tip of a knife;
  • 3 tbsp. spoons of granulated sugar;
  • 2 teaspoons cognac (or liqueur).

Preparation:

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan, place on the stove and heat without bringing to a boil.
  2. Add butter and sugar, stir until smooth.
  3. Next, add cocoa and stir again.
  4. When the sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat.
  5. Grind the cookies in a convenient way. It’s beautiful when one part of the crumbs is large and the other is small.
  6. Pour the milk mixture into the crumbs, add alcohol and vanilla.
  7. Stir and roll into a sausage.
  8. Place the dessert in the refrigerator for an hour and a half.
  9. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  10. Take out the sausage and pour chocolate over it. Try using white chocolate for decoration.
  11. When the filling has hardened, cut the dessert and serve.

On a note

To ensure that your homemade sausage meets all your expectations, read a few recommendations:

  1. Cookies go well with nuts. Add hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews to any recipe. The hazelnut gives the delicacy an unusual taste.
  2. The recipe is unlikely to hit the family budget. But in order to save money, you can do without nuts. It's delicious too!
  3. Instead of a plastic bag, use cling film, foil or parchment paper.
  4. Take cocoa powder, not a cocoa-based drink. Then the sausage will truly taste like it did in childhood.
  5. Biscuit-type cookies, and especially salty crackers, are not suitable for making sausages. Fruit additives and flavorings are also not welcome. The simpler the cookies, the tastier the dessert.
  6. Trick: You can buy crushed cookies at some stores. It costs less because of its appearance, but this does not change the taste and is even more convenient.
  7. To reduce the wait, place the sausages in the freezer, but do not keep them for too long so that the mixture does not freeze.
  8. Before slicing, roll the sausage in powdered sugar, coconut flakes or confectioner's caramel.
  9. Replace granulated sugar with powdered sugar - the taste will be more delicate. It is easy to prepare powder at home using a blender.
  10. If you replace butter with margarine, the taste will noticeably suffer.
  11. The sausage should be cut into portions immediately after it is removed from the refrigerator. If it has time to soften, it will easily fall apart when cutting.

It takes 10-15 minutes to prepare the chocolate sausage. The most difficult thing is to wait several hours while the dessert is in the refrigerator: this delicacy is so delicious! A childhood favorite, this sausage is a great way to pamper the whole family.

Most people associate the taste of this sweet with childhood. Mothers and grandmothers sometimes spoiled us with homemade chocolate sausage, which was tastier than store-bought muffins and cakes, but for some reason we ran out very quickly. Having matured a little, many learned to prepare this simple dessert themselves, especially since it did not require any complex equipment or culinary skills. Chocolate sausage in its simplest form consists of crushed cookies, cocoa and butter. There is no need to bake or beat anything, just be patient and wait for the “sweet cervelat” to harden thoroughly. Improved recipes include nuts, candied or dried fruits, alcohol, spices, but the cooking principle remains the same - mix everything, give the desired shape and cool.

Who invented the chocolate sausage

Although the chocolate sausage fits organically into the picture of food shortages in the era of mature socialism, it would be wrong to consider it a domestic invention. Similar recipes are present in the cuisines of many countries. For example, in Portugal this dish is prepared from dark chocolate, almonds, cookies and port wine. The finished sausages are rolled in powdered sugar. The French add a little liqueur to the pastry sausage. In Germany, a related dessert is called "Kalter Hund", which literally translates to "cold dog". The name is so-so, but there is reason to believe that it was the Germans who came up with the idea of mixing cookies with condensed milk.

It was not possible to establish exactly who was the author of the culinary invention, but the first recipe for confectionery chocolate sausage dates back to the twenties of the last century. In a cookbook published by Bahlsen, a similar dessert was called Leibniz's chocolate sponge cake. People have always called the cookie pie “Kalter-Hund” and there is an opinion that the roots of the strange name must be sought somewhere in the quarries. The Germans placed cookies with chocolate in the form of a cupcake, filled them with syrup, and after cooling the dessert for some reason reminded them of a cold dog’s nose. The version is unconvincing, but there are even worse incidents in history. The second name for this Kellerkuchen dish is cellar cake. It’s easier to explain - refrigerators were rare a hundred years ago, and the dish was cooled in the basement.

Pastry sausage is a simple dessert; anyone can master its recipe. The main thing is that the finished sweetness should look like smoked sausage, harden well and not crumble. It is not difficult to achieve the effect if you follow a few rules:

  • Use high quality and natural ingredients. Do not replace butter with spread or margarine, and cocoa powder with a chocolate drink. Whole or condensed milk must also be of high quality.
  • Choose butter and sweet cookies. Shortbread cookies without fruit additives are ideal for chocolate sausages. Biscuits and salty varieties are not suitable.
  • The butter needs to be softened, not melted over a fire.
  • Use powdered sugar, not sand - it may not dissolve and will squeak on your teeth. Just grind the sugar in a coffee grinder.
  • Do not grind the cookies to a fine crumb state - the white specks in the chocolate mass should resemble pieces of lard in regular sausage.
  • It is not advisable to wrap sausages in foil, as the mass will stick and it will be difficult to unwrap the finished sausage.
  • If the cookies are a little dry, add more butter, milk, condensed milk or sour cream. As a last resort, you can pour in a little boiled water.
  • Instead of cookies or together with them, you can use sweet crackers, waffles, pieces of biscuit or cake layers baked for a cake.

Creamy biscuit sausage

Butter is one of the important ingredients when preparing the famous homemade “chocolate sausage”. It is butter that is used, and not a fashionable spread or margarine, then the sausage has a special signature taste that will be remembered for a long time.

Ingredients:

  • Shortbread cookies, the simplest and most inexpensive - 200 gr.
  • Butter – 100-150 gr.
  • Granulated sugar – 3 tbsp. l.
  • Cocoa powder – 2-4 tbsp. l.
  • Fresh milk – 3-5 tbsp. l.
  • Walnuts (or any other, or mixture) – 80-100 gr.

Algorithm of actions:

  1. Heat the milk, mix with sugar and cocoa powder to form a homogeneous milk-chocolate mass.
  2. Add butter, continue heating, stirring all the time.
  3. Break cookies, such as “Chess”, into small pieces. You can do this by hand, grind it in a meat grinder with a large-hole rack, or put it in a bag, cover with a towel and tap with a kitchen hammer.
  4. Add broken cookies to the creamy chocolate mixture.
  5. Pre-shell walnuts or other nuts and remove the partitions. Chop finely and fry to enhance the flavor.
  6. Mix the sausage mixture. Form into oblong loaves, similar to salami.
  7. Wrap it in cling film and hide it away in the refrigerator.

The chocolate sausage must be thoroughly cooled before serving. A little powdered sugar won't hurt for beauty!

Chocolate sausage requires only the freshest ingredients.

For cooking, use butter (never margarine or spread).

A mandatory ingredient is cocoa powder; if it is unavailable, an ordinary chocolate bar will help, which needs to be melted along with butter.

Another replaceable product is milk; instead of regular milk, which is often present in recipes, you can use condensed milk. In this case, there is no need to add sugar.

The butter should be soft, not from the refrigerator. Therefore, we take it out in advance or lightly melt it in the microwave.
Place the cookies in a blender and crumble briefly. It should not form a homogeneous mass; on the contrary, there should be small pieces of cookies.

This is what the cookies look like after breaking. Some are almost flour, some are crumbs.
If you are worried that your blender will grind everything into flour too quickly - 350g. Grind the cookies to this state, and finely break 150 cookies with your hands.

Add cocoa and mix.

Add butter and condensed milk. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands.

The result is a very thick consistency.

Many housewives most often prepare this dessert in the winter, which is rich in various holidays associated with the arrival of guests. The cooking time is no more than 20-30 minutes.

The confectionery recipe assumes the following ingredients: 1 kilogram of ordinary tea cookies (you can use “Strawberry”, “Sugar”, “Jubilee” or any other to your taste), one and a half glasses of sugar, 4 tablespoons of milk, 100 grams of cocoa powder, 400 grams of margarine, two chicken eggs and a handful of raisins.

Cooking process

First you need to chop all the cookies into small pieces. Mix granulated sugar with cocoa powder, add milk and stir well. Melt the margarine and beat the eggs to eggnog, adding a handful of sugar. Add a mixture of sugar, cocoa and milk to a container with melted margarine, stir and gradually add beaten eggs. Place this mass on low heat and bring to a boil, then pour it into the crushed cookies and mix well, add raisins. If the consistency is a bit runny, you can add a little biscuit so that our sausage sticks together well. Divide the resulting mass into 4-5 parts. We form sausages from them, wrap them in cellophane and put them in the refrigerator. Moreover, it is recommended to use it precisely because when unpacking the dessert, the foil may stick to the dough in places and tear, which will complicate the process. In a few hours, the delicious confectionery sausage is ready. The recipe is very easy to prepare, and the dessert will not leave either children or adults indifferent. Bon appetit!

Pastry sausage: recipe with condensed milk

To prepare this delicious dessert we will need the following ingredients: 600 grams of cookies (you can take six packs of regular tea cookies of 100 grams each), a can of sweet condensed milk, 200 grams of butter (it should be removed from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes room temperature by the moment you start cooking), 7 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 50 grams of walnuts and 100 grams of pre-roasted hazelnuts.

Cooking process

Using a masher or other suitable object, crush the cookies until they form coarse crumbs. It’s not scary if the mass contains slightly larger pieces. Grind hazelnuts and walnuts with a blender in pulsating mode. Mix nuts, cocoa powder and cookies in one container. Add softened butter, condensed milk and mix well. Since a fork or spoon is not suitable for this, we perform this procedure with our hands. Divide the resulting mass into three or four parts, which we place on cling film and roll into sausage bars. If you want to give the dish a festive look, you can additionally wrap it in foil and tie it with multi-colored thin twine. After this, we put our sausage in the refrigerator for several hours. Before serving, cut it into medium-thick slices.

Add bread crusts, a piece of butter and mix well. Place the resulting mass on cling film or parchment, wrap it in sausage and put it in the refrigerator.
