HOW TO EXTEND YOUR TRIAL PROGRAM

As you know, trial programs are designed so that users can evaluate the quality of their work before shelling out money for them. The validity period of trial programs is determined by the developer, and it can vary widely, from one day to several months. Typically, trial programs are no different from their paid counterparts, except that after the trial period they stop working, and when you try to launch them, a window similar to Fig. 1 appears on the computer screen, with an impudent demand to purchase a license key.

I will not describe those “dastardly things” that program developers resort to, especially since each of them has their own methods of squeezing money out of ordinary computer users. I will only say that in response to the “machinations” of developers, PC users resort to various methods in order not to pay money for the product that is offered to them. Usually, they use “broken” programs, and, if they are lucky, they use key generators or keys for these programs obtained from the vast expanses of the Internet. Personally, I don't really like the method of using unlicensed software. Firstly, it is illegal, and secondly, all kinds of viruses are often distributed along with these programs. And finally, there are many ways to legally reuse trial software. And you can use these programs until you get rich and can purchase the licensed program you need with your honestly earned money.

In my series of articles, How to Get a Second Trial of a Program You Like, the first of which you will find here, I already described some tricks for reusing trial programs. And they were mainly based on cleaning the registry from traces of trial programs and then reinstalling them. But, unfortunately, sometimes the “vile fantasies” of software developers know no bounds, and in the fight against respectable lovers of “freebies” they resort to various tricks, just to prevent the opportunity to use their products for free. Therefore, sometimes it is not possible to completely clear the registry of traces of a previously installed trial program. More precisely, to find all the traces you have to work hard. And, in addition, sometimes deleting traces of programs from the registry leads to undesirable results. There are cases when the same registry keys or settings are used by different programs and deleting them can lead to undesirable effects, for example, failure (or incorrect operation) of other programs. Therefore, in previous articles regarding editing the registry, I always reminded you of the need to create a backup copy of the registry or a PC restore point before starting to clean the registry.

So what should you do if you cannot completely get rid of traces of a program and, accordingly, reinstall the trial version of this program? But at the same time, I really want to take advantage of the capabilities of this program one more time (and maybe more). I propose to consider such a case using the example of the “Revo Uninstaller” program, which was discussed in the article “”.

As I said above, after the trial period of this program has expired, which, by the way, is 30 days, when you try to start it again you will see the window Fig. 1. Approximately similar windows are displayed by other programs whose test period has expired. You can, of course, uninstall this program, install its free version, or use any other program of the same nature. But if you like this program and want to use it, leave everything as it is and do not try to delete it or look for keys to it. To extend the validity period of a trial program, simply set your computer to the date when the program was working properly. To do this, right-click on the date and time button, which is usually located in the lower right corner of your PC screen in the taskbar notification area (see 1 Fig. 2). You will see a context menu Fig.3.

In the context menu that appears, we are interested in the item “Setting the date and time” (see 2 Fig. 3). After you select this item, you will see the window Fig.4.

In the new window, on the “Date and Time” tab (see 1 Fig. 4), click on the “Change date and time...” button (see 2 Fig. 4).

In the “Date and Time Settings” window (Fig. 5), use the “Left-Right” buttons (see 1 Fig. 5) to select the year and month you need, and use the “Date” button (see 2 Fig. 5 ) set the required date. After this, click the “OK” button (see 3 Fig. 5) to save the required date. Now if you run the Revo Uninstaller program, it will work fine.

This method allows you to revive many programs. But you cannot use it for antivirus programs, because... An error will occur when updating the antivirus database. Therefore, after you use the capabilities of the program for which you changed the date on your PC, do not forget to synchronize the date and time of your computer with the Internet. To do this, in the Fig. 4 window, select the “Internet Time” tab (see 3 Fig. 4).

After this, the window Fig.6 will open. In this window, click on the “Change parameters” button (see 1 Fig. 6).

In the new window of Fig. 7, you should check for the presence of a checkmark to the right of “Synchronize with an Internet time server” (see 1 Fig. 7). You can select the synchronization source by clicking on the arrow to the right of “Server” (see 2 Fig. 7). To synchronize the time, click on the “Update now” button (see 3 Fig. 7). Well, in order for the changes to take effect, click the “OK” button (see 4 Fig. 7). That's it, your PC is now set to the correct date and time again. But, the truth is that your program does not work again. To make sure of this, try running it, and you will again get the window Fig. 1. And when the need for the trial program arises again, change the date on your PC again.

The described method for extending the validity period of a trial program is good for programs that you use periodically. And, besides, these programs should not be on the list of those that are automatically loaded when the computer starts. How to check the latter is written in the article “”. But this method does not require special PC knowledge and the use of dubious unlicensed versions of programs. And, in addition, it is trouble-free for many programs. Lastly, if you don't remember the end date of your trial program, set the time on your computer well before the trial program was installed, at least a year before. Everything should work fine.

Everyone knows that the largest amount of vitamins is found in fresh foods. Vegetables, fruits, herbs, and berries are now available for sale throughout the year. The question of acquiring them at first desire is not urgent. However, off-season varieties do not have a high level of nutrients. In addition, vegetables and fruits grown at the wrong time may contain significant amounts of chemicals. Fish and meat are purchased for more than one use. Therefore, the stock for future use remains relevant to this day.

Real housewives know many ways to extend the shelf life of food without refrigeration. But there are not so many methods that allow you to preserve the maximum of useful substances.

Canning is perhaps the most popular type of processing of vegetables and fruits. Its essence lies in the thermal and chemical effects on food products in order to extend the shelf life. You can also preserve meat and fish. Such products have a fairly good taste, different from others. At the same time, the usefulness of canned food is questioned by many experts.

If canning is carried out competently and using predominantly natural ingredients, with strict adherence to temperature conditions, recipe proportions and rules for sterilizing containers, then we can safely say that the resulting food is somewhat useful.

However, when this method is implemented at home, some difficulties arise. For example, it is necessary to carefully monitor the appearance of the product, note the presence of swelling on the jars, lifting of the lids, damage to the dishes, and the appearance of uncharacteristic color and consistency.

The presence of one extraneous factor is already a sufficient reason to eliminate the treat, since it can be harmful to health. It is preferable for inexperienced cooks to buy canned food in a store, checking the quality certificate and carefully studying the composition on the packaging along with the shelf life.

Other ways to extend the shelf life and period of consumption of the original products include freezing, drying, salting, pickling, pickling, canning (a method of preserving fresh fruits in sugar syrup). They all have their own disadvantages and advantages and have their own impact on the nutritional value of vegetables, fruits, fish and meat.

Salting is a very ancient method. It is especially often used in relation to protein natural products. Thorough salting allows you to reduce the activity of microorganisms in the fibers of meat and fish and significantly extends the period of preservation in the required form.

Fermentation is used more often in cases with vegetables. At its core, it is the same conservation, but of a biological type. In other words, fermentation is caused, during which organic acids are released and lactic acid bacteria appear, which do not allow mold fungi to develop.

As for pickling, it is similar, but necessarily involves the use of food acid: acetic, citric, lactic and others.

Candiing involves processing it with a large amount of sugar. Such concentrated canning is relevant, first of all, for fruits and berries.

Food industry professionals talk about drying as one of the most common ways to store vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, berries and herbs. Drying is accompanied by the evaporation of a significant percentage of moisture from the fruit, due to which the product is light and can be stored for a very long time.

The method is also used in cases with fish and meat, but much less frequently. The lack of drying manifests itself in the loss of some of the nutritional properties and vitamins along with the liquid. In some cases, there is a loss of beautiful color and pronounced taste.

Freezing cannot be called a rarely used method. On store shelves every day you can find a great variety of ready-made semi-finished products, mixtures and individual food products that have undergone cold processing. Quick freezing is especially beneficial for juicy, bright berries, vegetables and fruits, since moisture and attractive appearance are preserved.

High-quality freezing should be carried out at temperatures much lower than 300C. Because of this, stocking your household refrigerator at home is not the best option. Conditions slightly warmer than required may not be effective. In addition, failure to comply with freezing rules leads to the formation of ice inside the fruit, which violates the integrity of the shell, reduces the taste and makes the product watery.

The problem of increasing shelf life without loss of vitamins in food remains unresolved (Ed. www.site). In order for modern housewives to be able to shop for groceries and prepare meals for the week ahead without fear for the health of their families, inventors continue to constantly come up with new ideas. Plastic containers and glass containers of special composition, in which vacuum conditions are created, have become a kind of salvation in such situations.

These devices allow you to store both raw products and final dishes for a long time. A special valve is made in the lids of the containers, air is pumped out through it with a mini-pump, and the refrigerator creates the appropriate temperature. The combination of actions eliminates oxidation of the product and its early spoilage. Containers of this type allow food to remain as fresh and healthy as possible.

The expiration date of cosmetics indicates the date until which the cosmetic can be used.

But the date is indicated only if the expiration date is less than 30 months.

On cosmetics with a shelf life of more than 30 months, the date is not required.

The markings on cosmetic packaging refer only to unopened cosmetic products. After you start using them, the “lifespan” of cosmetics is reduced. Learn how to properly store creams, lipsticks and mascaras to extend their shelf life.

Symbols on labels

  • M6 on the cream means that the manufacturer guarantees the safe use of the cream for 6 months.
  • The sign "e" is the volume in grams or milliliters.
  • The image of a hand on the book encourages you to read the instructions.

Expiration date - cream and milk

Once you open the package of the cream, its shelf life is 6 months.

Body milk and balms can be used until they run out. Cosmetics for or against tanning should be thrown away after the end of the season. They are exposed to sunlight, making their filters ineffective.

Buy creams in small jars with a spatula or bottles with a dispenser. This prevents bacteria from penetrating the cream.

Store medications with active substances in a cool, dark place. You should urgently throw away a cosmetic product if its smell has become unpleasant or sour. Water droplets or a yellowish coating form on the surface of spoiled cream.

Expiration date - foundation

The shelf life of this cosmetics is from 3 to 6 months. And the less water they contain, the longer they can be stored.

It is safest to use foundation in a tube or bottle with an applicator. Foundation in jars deteriorates faster if you take it with your finger rather than with a spatula. Close the jar of cream carefully after each use.

Store foundations in a cool, dark place. You urgently need to throw away the fluid, which has changed its consistency and smells strange. White spots on the surface of the cream are a sure sign that the cosmetic product has deteriorated.

Expiration date - mascaras and pencils

The shelf life of the mascara from the date of use is no longer than 3 months. Carcasses thicken over time, and bacteria settle on the brush.

After each use, wash the brush and insert it into the tube with a sharp movement (this will prevent air from getting into the bottle). Do not dilute mascara with water or saliva.

Eye and eyebrow pencils have a shelf life of up to a year. They should be unscrewed after each use and sharpened once a week.

You urgently need to throw out thickened mascara that is falling off your eyelashes, because it can get into your eyes and cause irritation. White residue on pencils is a reason to throw them in the trash.

Expiration date - lipsticks and glosses

The shelf life of lipsticks and liquid glosses is from 8 months to 2 years. Powder lipsticks that contain quick-drying silicone have a shorter shelf life.

It is best to apply lipstick with a brush or applicator, without twisting out all the lipstick (exposure to light causes it to deteriorate faster).

Never take lipstick from a friend, because her bacterial flora is different from yours (this is unhygienic and can be hazardous to health). You should immediately throw away your lipstick if it has changed color, become hard, or rolls off when applied. Avoid using thickened gloss.

Expiration date - powders and shadows

Loose, compact powders, blushes and pressed shadows are the most durable cosmetic products. If moisture does not get into them, then their shelf life will be about 3 years, and some even up to 5.

Rinse the brush or applicator after each use. Keep a protective film in the powder compact that separates the powder from the powder. Thanks to this, you will not transfer excess sweat and fat from the puff to the cosmetic product.

You should urgently throw away powder and blush if they leave stains on your face or are applied unevenly. If loose powder or eye shadow sticks to the lid or rolls off, it is unusable.

Do not use cosmetics that have expired. The preservatives it contains stop working and the substances begin to decompose.

Even if the drug does not look spoiled, it loses its beneficial properties. Expired cosmetics can cause irritation.

Eau de parfum does not lose its properties for up to two years if stored in a cool, dark place. And the shelf life of eau de toilette is six months longer. In a thick glass bottle, the life of the fragrance will be several months longer than in transparent bottles.

There are people who prefer to smell unusual: mold, cheese, fish. Could you wear this scent on yourself?

Storage methods

Keep the brushes in a deep glass. And so that they do not touch, pour beads into the container. If you put your brushes in your makeup bag, the shadows you apply with them will contain all of its contents.

✓ On a two-tier candy vase you can put nail polishes. This way you will immediately see all the shades you have.

Small single-color shadows fit perfectly in an ice cube tray that fits easily into the pull-out shelf of your nightstand.

Mascara quickly wears out due to air entering the tube. To extend its life, when opening the case, take out the brush, smoothly scrolling it in a spiral.

Creams with vitamin C can be stored for no more than 3 months. Ascorbic acid begins to break down as soon as the jar is opened.

Products in packaging with dispensers are the most “tenacious”. The pump increases their service life to 2 years.

Heat not only worsens the texture of lipsticks, but also provokes the proliferation of bacteria. Lip products are best stored on the bottom shelves of the refrigerator.

Contrary to popular belief, face creams should not be kept in the refrigerator. But a shelf in the bathroom, where the air is often humid, is not the most suitable option. Such products are best stored at room temperature in a lockable cabinet with doors.

Everything has its time

Some cosmetics are completely unpretentious and can last for years:

  1. Body lotion. Those that contain alcohol (perfumed) are especially durable.
  2. Foam for washing. Tensides in the composition prevent the growth of bacteria.
  3. Shadows and blush. If cleaned regularly, brushes and applicators can last almost forever.

With these simple tricks, you will not only save your food, but also save money.

Olive oil

To ensure the oil has a longer shelf life, keep it in small bottles unless you are using this product in large quantities. Once opened, olive oil can go bad within three months, even if the bottle says longer. Remember, fresh olive oil smells like ripe green olives and has a bright flavor with a slight tangy note. If the smell becomes musty, there is a problem.

Peanut butter

Storing your peanut butter properly will not only help you keep it longer, but also make it creamier. To do this, simply turn the jar upside down. Then the oils will be distributed more evenly, and you won't have to put in much effort to mix everything. Be sure to check in advance that the lid is screwed on tightly to avoid greasy stains on the shelf.

Cheese

Let the cheese breathe - store it in a porous material. If you don't have special paper, baking paper will also work. Do not use foil or plastic wrap. If the cheese is not exposed to oxygen, it dries out quickly.

Butter

Pieces of butter that you won't be using anytime soon can be stored in the freezer. This will prevent spoilage and help protect the oil from foreign odors. An unopened package of butter can last about four months in the refrigerator, and up to a year in the freezer. Leave the butter in its original packaging, additionally wrapping it in plastic. If your product begins to change color, it is an indication that you are using it too slowly. A lighter shade on the outside indicates a loss of freshness due to oxidation.

Brown sugar

Store brown sugar in a plastic container with a tight lid, along with something like a piece of bread or an apple slice, so it stays soft and doesn't turn into a sticky mess.

Mayonnaise

Store mayonnaise on the refrigerator door. If you keep it deep inside, it may cool too much, causing the sauce to separate and fat to accumulate on top. If you store mayonnaise on the refrigerator door, it will remain fresh for two to three months from the date of purchase.

Flour

Whole wheat flour should be stored in a cool place. It contains a large amount of oils, so if stored improperly, the taste can become rancid. If you rarely use flour, keep it in a tight container in the refrigerator - it will stay fresh for up to six months. Monitor the quality of the product by smell - the flour should not smell of anything. If the smell is pungent or bitter, it's time to throw the product away. Regular white flour will last in the pantry for a year if kept in a tight container.

Maple syrup

Once opened, keep it in the refrigerator for optimal storage. Since the syrup contains a lot of sugar, it will not harden. Natural maple syrup in a sealed bottle can be stored in the pantry for a very long time, and once opened it will last in the refrigerator for about a year.

Soy sauce

Watch the color. The most common soy sauce has a reddish-brown hue when fresh. If it has darkened greatly, the product has probably become a victim of an oxidation process. You don't have to keep soy sauce refrigerated, but keeping it cool will help it retain its optimal flavor longer, keeping it fresh for up to two years.

Spices

Keep red spices in the refrigerator. Paprika, cayenne and chili peppers will stay fresh longer and retain their vibrant colors. If you store them at room temperature, the spices will oxidize and this may cause their color to change.

Honey

If your honey has crystallized, you can make it liquid again by placing the jar in a pan of water and returning it to the stove. Stir the honey until all the crystals have dissolved. Do not keep this product in the refrigerator, otherwise it will constantly become sugary. Honey can maintain its freshness for a very long time because it contains enzymes that protect the product from the spread of bacteria. Even the honey stored in the tombs of the pharaohs remained fresh when scientists discovered it tens of hundreds of years later.
