How to choose the right ingredients

  • To make cookies, it is better to use premium wheat flour. Other varieties may negatively affect the softness of the product and its taste.
  • I do not recommend using margarine or various substitutes such as butter spread instead of butter. In order for the baked goods to be fragrant and airy, choose butter with a fat content of 72% and be sure to check that it does not contain any additives - real butter is made only from cow's milk cream.

  • To make cookie dough or cream, you can replace the vanilla extract with two packets of vanilla sugar.
  • If you don't have powdered sugar on hand, grind regular granulated sugar in a coffee grinder.
  • The cookies can also be made without adding black food coloring because the product is already a very rich brown color.
  • If during the process of kneading the cookie dough you notice that it turns out to be too liquid and does not hold its shape, sprinkle it with a small amount of flour - the consistency of the mass should be crumbly, brittle, but not falling apart.
  • Instead of a pastry bag, you can use a regular plastic bag with a corner cut off.
  • Special cookie cutters can be replaced with a 50 ml glass.

    Beat butter with powdered sugar.

Add the whipped butter to the dry mixture and knead into a homogeneous dough.

At this stage you can add food coloring.

Finish kneading with your hands. The result should be a soft crumbly dough.

Divide the resulting dough into three parts. We wrap each of them in cling film, flatten them, and put them in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

While the dough is resting in the refrigerator, prepare the cream. Beat the butter, adding powdered sugar in several additions. While beating, add vanilla extract.

If necessary, add milk. The result should be a thick plastic mass.

Roll out the dough into a layer 2-3 mm thick.

Using a mold of a suitable diameter, we squeeze out the blanks of the future cookies.

We place the blanks on a baking sheet covered with parchment and place them in an oven preheated to 170*C.

    Bake for 10 minutes.

After baking, transfer the cookie halves to a wire rack and leave to cool completely.

We connect the halves using cream.

After cooking, put the cookies in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. These cookies won’t stay crispy for long, so it’s best to eat them right away. Enjoy your tea!

Oreo cookies are a product with a memorable advertisement: “twist, dip, lick...” Very popular lately! If your child is begging for Oreos like my daughter, congratulations. Have you already seen the expiration date on the packaging? Do you know what a year is for a confectionery that contains milk? That’s what I mean: during production, a significant amount of preservatives and additives, including harmless ones, were used! So I would look for a homemade Oreo cookie recipe.

Everything is done much faster and easier. And more interesting. Be sure to try making this super chocolatey, melt-in-your-mouth crumbly treat.

How to make Oreo cookies

  1. I am preparing everything necessary. The butter will need to be softened, so I take it out of the refrigerator in advance.

  2. Place soft butter and powdered sugar into the bowl of a food processor.

  3. Beat until a fluffy light mass is obtained. Add cocoa powder, baking powder and flour.

  4. Process until a soft, buttery chocolate dough forms. It should crumble a little, but still come together well into a lump. I put it on cling film.

  5. I compact and form a long sausage with a diameter of 4-5 centimeters. Be sure to pay a lot of attention to this process; there should be no air voids left inside. I place the workpiece on a flat surface and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

  6. I free the chocolate sausage from the cling film and cut it into circles 3-4 millimeters thick.

  7. I transfer them to a baking tray lined with baking paper. The cookies increase in volume just a little, so you can lay them out quite tightly.

  8. Place in a preheated oven and bake at 180 degrees for 8 minutes. I take it out and leave it to cool right on the baking sheet. Do not touch under any circumstances until cool, as the cookies are very fragile.

  9. For the cream layer, use a mixer to mix soft butter with powdered sugar. Separately, whip the cream. I combine both mixtures, carefully mixing with a spoon.

  10. In the resulting cream, small lumps are allowed to appear, which are formed from contact of the oil mixture at room temperature with cold cream.

  11. I put a little cream on one cookie using a pastry syringe or a spoon. I cover with the second cookie.

  12. Before serving, the Oreo should rest in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.

On a note:

  • It is better not to replace powdered sugar with sugar,
  • Cocoa powder should be of the highest quality.

Born in the USA in 1912. It immediately gained such popularity among Americans that its name became a household name. The fact is that “Oreo” consists of two black (anthracite, not coffee) colored biscuits, held together with white vanilla cream. Therefore, among dark-skinned Americans, this word began to be used to describe those people from Africa who too much wanted to please whites and distance themselves from “their own.” However, when, along with the classic taste, Oreo biscuits with cream of other colors began to be produced, the common meaning was forgotten.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the production of popular cookies began in the Old World, namely in Spain. It has become more accessible to Europeans, but, alas, not to Russians. You can buy Oreo cookies in Moscow only through online stores on order, whereas in Ukraine they are sold in every kiosk. How can we explain this phenomenon? Maybe government services saw the cookies as a danger to the health of Russians? Or is this some kind of protection of domestic producers?

However, let's not fool ourselves with the problem of where to buy Oreo cookies, but make them ourselves. Moreover, there is nothing complicated about it. Maybe we won’t get it as black as a branded product, but no less tasty. To achieve such a deep color, making the tongue eerily blue, the cocoa for the dough is specially processed. Although this is just a marketing ploy, the color does not affect the taste in any way. And making cookies ourselves will save us from antioxidants E304 and E306, ammonium bicarbonate, soy lecithin and other nonsense.

In order to make Oreo cookies so that they are almost like the original, you don’t have to skimp and replace the ingredients with cheaper ersatz ones. Only high-quality butter - 200 gram pack. If you don't have powdered sugar, use a coffee grinder to grind 250 g of sand into powder. Separate 125 grams from a pack of butter, heat it to room temperature and start whipping. Gradually add 100 g of powdered sugar and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix 125 g flour, 50 g cocoa powder, a pinch of baking powder and a little salt. Add this to a homogeneous butter-sugar mixture. At first it will seem to you that you won’t be able to make anything out of this solid crumb. However, still knead diligently, and your work will be rewarded.

Place the bun in the refrigerator for half an hour. After this, between two layers of cling film, roll out the dough into a thin layer (about 3 mm thick). Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven at 175°C. Place the baking sheet in there and bake the Oreo cookies for about 10 minutes. The main thing is not to overdo it. Although at first the biscuits will seem damp to you - they will be too soft. And as soon as they cool, they will harden.
