There is everything from anguiila (eel) to zuppa di pesce, a thick fish soup. We present to your attention lobster salad in truffle sauce - the dream of any gourmet. For lovers of grilled fish, there is no better dish than grigliata mista - a real assortment of seafood. A unique dish is sea spider meat (granseola) with the addition of lemon, which is served directly in the shell. Exotic lovers can try black noodles with cuttlefish. Baccala, a dish made from dried cod fillet, also deserves special mention.

But the further you go from the sea, the less fish there is in the traditional Venetian menu - meat comes to the fore. Particularly popular are game and poultry, as well as corn polenta. A classic example of such a “non-marine” dish is wild duck with spicy anchovy sauce. And the legacy of Austrian domination over Venice - Venetian-style veal liver with polenta, with the addition of white wine and cognac - still evokes exclamations of admiration from gourmets. And, of course, the famous carpaccio combined with lemon juice. Risotto is also valued here - even more than pasta. Venice is also famous for its vegetables. Red radicchio salad and white asparagus are especially popular. Dishes made from pumpkin and beans are also at a premium - for example, pasta e fagioli.

There is also a place in Venetian cuisine. In addition to the classic tiramisu, they also offer dry cookies, which go perfectly with a glass of white wine.
