  • Kefir (fat content at your discretion, we had 1%) - 0.9-1 liter
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Spices (we had a seasoning for chicken, which includes salt, sweet red pepper, white mustard, garlic, coriander, turmeric, fenugreek, hot red pepper, ginger, cinnamon, zira, cloves, nutmeg) - 3-4 teaspoons spoons
  • Onion - 1 small onion (optional)
  • Fresh garlic - 2-3 cloves (optional)
  • Greens (dill, cilantro) - 40-50 grams (optional)

Cooking:


The chicken or its parts must be washed and cut into portions. Salt and pepper the chicken pieces on both sides, sprinkle with spices (chicken seasoning), if desired, lightly rubbing it all into the chicken meat. It is difficult to specify the amount of salt and pepper, we lightly sprinkle ( check out our video recipe! ), literally shaking the salt shaker 2-3 times and spinning the mill with pepper the same number of times.


Put the chicken pieces in a container suitable for marinating, for example, in a sufficiently large pot with a lid, enameled or stainless steel is suitable. If you want to add onions, garlic or greens (we did not add this time when we photographed and filmed a video for this article), then you need to add at this stage of cooking. Onions and garlic should be peeled and finely chopped (garlic can be passed through a special “crusher”), the greens should be washed, dried and also finely chopped. Putting chicken pieces in a saucepan, sprinkle layers of chicken with chopped onions, garlic, herbs.


Pour kefir over the chicken in a saucepan so that it covers the entire chicken. We also recommend mixing so that the kefir can be guaranteed to penetrate between the heavy pieces of chicken. About an hour or so before the expected serving of the chicken to the table, turn on the oven, let it warm up for 10-15 minutes. We spread our chicken along with kefir marinade in a baking dish (the form can not be lubricated, kefir is enough).

Ingredients:

Having prepared all of the above ingredients, you can start cooking chicken in kefir in the oven. First, prepare a spicy marinade on kefir. Peel the garlic. What you need to marinate chicken in kefir:

Kefir - 1 pack. 400ml

Orange - 1pc;

Carrot - 1 pc.

Mix the entire marinade with chicken pieces well and send it to the refrigerator for the remaining time.

When the time comes, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and put the chicken pieces on it.

We leave the marinade in a saucepan, we still need it. I love that the color of the meat is not just light, but golden. Therefore, I fry the chicken on all sides until golden brown. After frying the chicken meat until half cooked for about 20 minutes, I put it in a container that can be put in the microwave. It is desirable that this container be with a lid, but in the absence of the latter, you can replace it with a simple plate. I pour the remaining marinade on top of the meat, if it is enough to the top of the meat, then I leave it like that. And if there is less marinade, then I add boiled water to equalize the amount of liquid with the height of the meat. Now I cover the container with a lid and send it to the microwave for 30 minutes at high power. After the time has passed, I take out the chicken and add orange slices to it, if necessary, add some water, and cover it with a lid and send it to the microwave for another 30 minutes, at the same maximum power.

Recipe 1: Kefir Chicken

Required Ingredients:

- chicken - 1.2-1.5 kg;

- kefir - 0.75 ml;

Cooking method:

Let's start the preparatory process. Rinse the chicken well and cut it into portions. Sprinkle the meat with seasoning and salt, mix and place it in a deep bowl. Spread the meat in an even layer and pour it with kefir. Pay attention - kefir should completely cover the pieces of meat! Only in this way, each piece of your chicken is well and properly marinated. Recipe 2: Kefir Chicken

This recipe is designed for those who want to cook a full lunch or a hearty dinner. Together with chicken in kefir, we will bake potatoes.

Required Ingredients:

Chicken - 1 pc.;

- kefir - 0.75 ml;

- Cherry tomatoes;

- garlic - 2 cloves;

- a mixture of Italian herbs;

- salt and pepper to taste;

- potatoes per family member.

Cooking method:

First, wash the chicken and cut it into portions. The chicken can be successfully replaced with thighs or other parts of the chicken.

Let's prepare the marinade. Pour kefir into a bowl. Finely chop the garlic cloves and send to kefir. Add salt, ground black pepper and a mixture of Italian herbs (you can use your favorite herbs). Mix kefir and pour over chicken pieces. The marinade should completely cover the meat. We will send the meat to marinate for about half an hour.

While the meat is marinating, take on the potatoes. Clean it, wash it, dry it and cut it into beautiful longitudinal slices. Take a fireproof baking dish and put the prepared potatoes in it. Pour a little olive oil, salt and pepper the potatoes, you can still put basil leaves on top.

Now take a few pieces of cherry tomatoes, cut them in half and spread them over the potatoes. Lay the pieces of marinated meat on top and pour over the marinade.

Preheat the oven to a temperature of 200 degrees and send the chicken and potatoes to bake. After about 40 minutes, turn on the grill and leave the dish for another 5 minutes in the oven so that the pieces of meat are nicely browned.

Recipe 3: Chicken in kefir with basil

The spices in the marinade add a special piquancy to this dish.

Required Ingredients:

- chicken legs - 4 pcs.;

- kefir-gatykh - 175 ml;

- vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons;

- fresh chopped basil - 2-3 tablespoons;

- dry mustard - 1 tsp;

- garlic cloves - 2-3 pcs.;

- pepper and salt to taste.

Cooking method:

First, wash the chicken legs and remove the skin - we do not need it. Let's prepare the marinade. To do this, pour yogurt, chopped basil and dry mustard into a deep bowl. Let's mix. Grind the garlic cloves and send it to the sauce. At the end, add vegetable oil. Mix the sauce thoroughly with a spoon and lower the prepared chicken legs into it. If you are a fan of spicy dishes, you can also add hot red pepper to the marinade. Tighten the bowl with cling film and send it to the refrigerator to marinate for 8 hours. During the marinating process, it is recommended to turn the pieces of meat several times.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Put the marinated meat on a baking sheet and pour it with marinade. We bake the dish for about 1 hour, and in the process of cooking we turn the pieces of meat over 2 times. After 1 hour, move the baking sheet to the top shelf of the oven and turn on the grill. Continue cooking for another 15-20 minutes depending on the power of your grill. The readiness of the meat can be checked by puncturing with a toothpick.

As a side dish for such chicken legs, you can cook the original form of pasta. Before serving, sprinkle them with chopped herbs and grated cheese - a very appetizing dish.

The longer your meat stays in the marinade, the better and juicier it will taste.
