I offer you a recipe for salty cookies with cheese in a waffle iron. The cookies come from Western Ukraine and are prepared very often. Salty cheese biscuits are great with beer or for a snack. Caraway seeds can be added as desired, but they give the cookies an original taste and aroma. Cookies with cheese in a waffle iron come out crispy and tasty.

How to make salty cheese cookies:

To begin, grate the cheese on a fine grater; it is advisable to take harder varieties of cheese so that it does not stick together when grated.

First sift the flour into a deep bowl, add salt, cumin, soda with citric acid. Mix the entire dry mixture.

Add all the cheese to the flour and mix again until the cheese is completely mixed with the flour. It is best to do this with your hands, lifting the flour from bottom to top.

Beat in the egg, add soft margarine and pour in kefir.

Knead the dough with your hands, you can pour the entire contents onto the table and knead into a soft dough.

Roll into a ball, place in a plate and cover with a towel to prevent the dough from drying out. Let it sit for a bit. Meanwhile, while the dough is resting, turn on the electric waffle iron so that it warms up completely. In order to check whether the waffle iron is completely heated, open it and drop water on the surface; if the water sizzles and completely evaporates, it means that the device is heated and you can bake salty cookies.

Roll all the dough into small balls. If you roll very small balls, the size of cherries, then you can place 6 pieces in the waffle iron at a time, and accordingly the cookies will be smaller. You can bake slightly larger balls, then the cookies will be a little larger.

Close the waffle iron, it is advisable to hold the handles firmly so that the device does not open and baking occurs evenly. Select the finished salted kefir cookies with a fork and place in a deep bowl until completely cooled. Enjoy your meal!
