Delicious food in pattaya. Food in Pattaya - where to eat cheaply in Pattaya? Makashnitsy - another option for "fast" food

The advantage of this resort town is that eat here can be everywhere and at any time of the day. Kitchen restaurants and other catering establishments of Pattaya strikes with its diversity. In addition to the traditional Thai food, you can try the cuisine of almost all countries of the world, from French to Japanese.

Food on the streets

Very popular in Pattaya food on the streets. Its cost is significant cheaper than making your own lunch or dinner. Street cafes with traditional dishes are usually located in the lanes away from beaches and busy streets. The menu is not overly varied, however, street food is the cheapest and easiest way to try it. tasty and fresh local food. The price of one dish in such an institution usually does not exceed 50 baht.

No less popular than cafes are macarons- street stalls with food. A full-fledged lunch at the macaroni is unlikely to succeed, but to have a bite chicken or seafood- easily. Freshly prepared sushi and rolls are also sold here at very low prices. Prices for food in macarons are also very democratic - fried seafood will cost about 30-40 baht per serving. A piece of chicken will have about the same price. It is not difficult to find macarons in the city, they are located almost every step. However, they begin to work actively in the late afternoon.

Food on the street and in the macaroni is definitely worth a try, at least once. It's worth it. Particular attention is recommended to be given seafood Their diversity is amazing. You don't have to worry about the quality of food on the street - getting ready she is immediately before use from fresh produce.

If you prefer more familiar food, grocery stores are the best option. markets and markets where you can choose your own menu for each day. Food markets are rich vegetables and fruits. This is the best place to buy them. Approximately, cucumbers and tomatoes are worth the order 30 baht per kg. Such as bananas and pineapples are completely cheaper - 20-25 baht per kg. In general, you should not lose the opportunity - fruits can be enjoyed in any quantity, their cost contributes to this.

As for grocery markets, here you can buy frozen semi-finished products Thai cuisine or more familiar European products. However, European food is more expensive. For example, the price of a loaf of bread will be about 100 baht.

Restaurants in Pattaya

There are no less restaurants in Pattaya than street cafes. It’s not easy to navigate them right away, so let’s consider the most popular and affordable:

1. Thai House- popular restaurant traditional thai food located in North Pattaya. The interior of the restaurant is also made in Thai style, which allows you to feel the atmosphere of the area. The largest assortment of dishes from seafood. The average cost of dinner at Thai House is around 500 baht. The restaurant is open from 11:30 to 23:30.
2. A similar institution in terms of cost and menu is a restaurant Ruen Thai. It is located in South Pattaya(South Pattaya), opposite the Royal Garden Plaza.
3. food wave- a restaurant with a focus many national cuisines of the world, such as Italian, Russian, Vietnamese and others. The establishment is located in the Royal Garden Plaza. The average cost of dinner is about 500-550 baht. Working hours: 9:00-23:00.

In this post, we will not consider cheap cafes or restaurants. Most often it is not possible to save on them, and if it is possible, then not on every visit. If you want to fill your stomach inexpensively, tasty and satisfying, we invite you to the evening market in the Jomtien beach area. It opens around 5 pm.

Night market in Jomtien - "Pattaya night market"

What is good in itself is that the market is open every day, not just on weekends. It opens at about 17:00, fully begins its work at 18:00 and until late in the evening. The market is neat, if it can be somehow attributed to the Thai setting. It sells clothes, shoes, souvenirs, drinks and prepared food. Let me tell you more about the food.

The market on Jomtien opens before dark, around 4 p.m.

There are always clean sellers and part-time cooks. They will kindly serve you. They will even be able to answer a couple of words in Russian. They always return the change correctly and honestly. But still, always count it. Every day we hear how Russian tourists turn to merchants in Russian, and they, poor fellows, are trying to understand and answer something. You can buy almost everything on the market. Starting from seafood and deli meats to boiled corn, fruits and vegetables.

Meat on a stick

Different types of sausages and meatballs. All for 10 baht (10 rubles)

Kebabs. Note that the inscriptions are in Russian. You don't have to break your head

Prices are pleasing to the eye All for 20 baht

If you don't want meat, here you are: fish, shrimp, octopus, squid and more. Prices are in Thai baht. 1 baht = 2 rubles

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - Kiwi Taxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience in this article.

Sushi rolls. The price is 5-10 baht per piece. Heaven for Japanese Cuisine Lovers

Sweet on the market, too, will not be deprived. Cupcakes and donuts with different fillings.

We ate donuts all 7 months of life in Tae. Now it's sickening to even look at them.

Do you want Russian pancakes with banana and mango? Traditional Russian recipe!

For me, this place is also convenient because you can come every day and buy fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. They should be in my diet every day.

Where there are vegetables, there are fruits.

If you are in doubt whether to take this or that fruit, then ask for a piece for testing. You won't be denied

There is also a bar and a local eatery in the market itself. Europeans and Thais almost always dine there.

We haven't tried anything here.

Buy your favorite dishes and do not put off a snack indefinitely .. It is better to try everything in the heat, with the heat on the spot. For such gatherings, tables and even a small stage were organized in the market, where in the evenings they turn on music and the kids dance and have fun.

Come to the market, save your money, eat delicious food and enjoy Pattaya. It is not difficult to find it in Jomtien, it is located near the beach approximately in the middle of the area. The market is marked on the map.

As for #outside food in Pattaya, we can say that there are a lot of places where you can eat: from shrimp on the beach to pathos restaurants for decent money.

The place that won my heart is the Chocolate Factory. Firstly, they prepare and sell real chocolate and chocolates. And right there is a restaurant where you can eat a chocolate bar with tea or coffee (or with any other drink). The beauty of this restaurant is the presence of a large selection of desserts and a beautiful view of the sea. The quality of cakes and desserts with various fruits and chocolate made me walk there with my son through the wasteland (it was shorter). And the prices are lower than in Almaty coffee houses! In addition to sweets, you can order local and Italian cuisine. I loved it???? pasta, and Thai food has been better. Therefore, this institution is for the "European" meal.

The French confectionery in the north of Pattaya, La Baguette French Bakery, is another place not to miss your homeland☺. This is a coffee shop with delicious cappuccino, cakes, sandwiches. After living in Pattaya for a couple of weeks, you really want the usual sweets and delicious bread. However, they serve for a long time, and even it seemed to me that the Europeans were served faster here????.

The HardRock cafe on the Pattaya embankment is quite tasty, but the prices there are straight restaurant-restaurant prices, moreover, twice as high as the Almaty cafe of the same name. This is not a place to go for a burger????. But you can go in and you can definitely eat! If you want a burger, then Pattaya is full of Macdonalds and KFC (we didn’t go, I don’t know the prices).

At the Havana Bar and Terrazzo at the Holiday Inn, they make delicious pizza, salads and burgers (what we went here for), because if you buy a pizza from 3 to 5, then the second one is given as a gift. The pizza we got cost somewhere around 200-250 baht.

Italian restaurant Toscana on the waterfront, not far from the Holiday Inn - a place where they cook both Italian and local cuisine. It is very tasty, real Italian (I think so????) pasta! They also prepare all sorts of antispasti and homemade takeaway pasta.

The Cabbages and Condoms restaurant is very well located, its terraces hang right over the sea, and it certainly looks very nice and romantic. But the cuisine here is quite ordinary, and my husband did not like it at all. It's only women who are willing to pay for tasteless food in a pretentious place☺.

I have already talked about local food in my previous stories about Thailand. Everything is there in Pattaya.

On Walking Street, prices for fish and seafood are higher than on Koh Samet. If you find small restaurants not on the streets where tourists walk, then you can find good cafes with local cuisine for Thais and seasoned tourists. We liked Pratumnak 5 because the food is fresh and the prices are much lower. For example, if in a restaurant our favorite fried rice is 120 baht, then in such a cafe it will cost 60 baht☺.

Eat cheap when you're too lazy to cook and don't want to go anywhere.

Too lazy to cook is a frequent state for me, and when you are, you swim, you work up, then there’s nothing at all reluctant. And then you can:

1. Eat shawarma (kebab, doner)! Near the Russian market on Thap Phraya 12, Muang Pattaya, not far from Pattaya Park, I liked it the most. The beauty of this particular place is that the chicken is fresh, tasty, puts the Turks, does not spare the chicken, the cabbage is crispy, the vegetables are cut right there, and the doner costs 50 baht. Nearby they make fruit smoothies from any fruit or a mix of 25 baht (a friend generally considered this smoothie to be dinner in itself????). I asked for no syrup and little ice - it turned out great.

2. Eat grilled chicken from a "restaurant on wheels". All over Pattaya, such motors with an attached "kitchen" drive around. Each of them has its own specialization. Many who sell soups, grilled chicken or seafood, as well as chopped fruit. So, this was my second favorite "lazy" dinner: take a couple of grilled chicken legs (the marinade is so delicious) and a couple of bags of chopped pineapple-watermelon-melon-dragon-fruit-mango and drink tea, bottled milk or juice in the room from 7/11.

3. Many "Russians" eat at the "Night Bazaar near Pattaya Park" market, but I didn't really like the look of these street cafes. And why do I need mashed potatoes and meatballs in Thailand?

4. Thai "doshirak". 7/11 or Family Mart has a huge selection of custard noodles with different flavors and spiciness. After tasting a couple, it even began to seem to me that they are cooked in the “makashnitsa”, seasoned with a bunch of greens☺️.

5. And, of course, everyone who has been to Thailand loves pancakes with fruit! #masttry#musthave.

Excursions with food

Almost all long excursions in Thailand include lunch. I'll tell you about a couple that I liked.

spice garden

This tour includes a cooking show of traditional Thai dishes. So, this cooking show was super cool: to see how a Thai woman cooks from fresh ingredients, and the finished dish is served to the audience for lunch.

Thai spicy soup is called tom yum. I thought that this is exactly the one that is served everywhere with coconut milk, but, it turns out, every housewife has her own recipe. Tom yum at the Spice Garden was the best in Pattaya☺. For the whole time we were there, and the papaya salad is wonderful (although I don't really like peanuts). However, I did not like their fried rice very much, because. it was, in my opinion, adapted to the Russian-speaking group: a lot of tomatoes, few spices.

I don’t know if everyone will like the food, because a woman sat opposite me who didn’t eat anything at all - she, in principle, doesn’t understand Thai food.

floating market

This is a place where they sell various food from boats, both the one that can be found in every brazier, and the one that, perhaps, is cooked only in Thailand. For example, such things as rice dough balls stuffed with crushed peanuts, baked snails with spices, various local sweets and fruits. Exotic, if you are ready for taste experiments, then you will like the food here. Near the exit there are numerous cafes with more familiar dishes - local noodles and rice. They are not empty, they are quite popular among the Thais themselves. Only, it seems, there are mini-tables and you will need to sit "in Kazakh".

On my very first visit to Thailand in 2000, I had many fears and concerns about Thai food, about the fact that it is spicy and smelly. I remember that a friend could not eat at all because of the large number of spices and aromas, and how happy we were then when we met McDonald's ????. In fact, in Pattaya, in addition to local cuisine, Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurant-cafes are often found. Italian restaurants have great pasta. In French cookery - delicious cakes, croissants, bread. Prices for the same pizza or burgers are the same as in Almaty.

I hope this story will help you get gastronomic pleasure from traveling to this wonderful country, which has such a variety of dishes, tastes and cuisines. Bon appetite everyone!

In Asia, it is not customary to cook at home. Therefore, catering is the largest industry in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries.

Of course, in Pattaya, as the largest tourist city in Asia, this is all right. Pop-ups are scurrying through the streets, spontaneous night markets are unfolding. Fishermen can put up a grill, fry and sell their catch right at the hotel porch or on the beach.

Silkworm larvae - entertainment for tourists. Tastes like chips.

To try real Thai food - take dishes in muffins - they appear on the streets at lunchtime and closer to 6 pm. They are easy to find by the sounds of the horn. As a rule, there are two types of food - soups with noodles or rice with meat. They all cost the same 30 baht - this is the place where you can eat inexpensively in Pattaya. In addition, you can collect sauces and seasonings with you. The Thais themselves eat in macaroons, so don't be afraid of stale food.

Quite cheap and interesting to eat at the night markets in Pattaya. Many cafes with Russian dishes (okroshka, dumplings, borscht, stuffed cabbage). Prices 50-70 baht per serving. Most often we took tom yum soup ( 40 baht) and rolls ( 5 baht per piece). To represent the cost of food in rubles, simply multiply the price tag in half.

What are the most popular street snacks in Pattaya. it roti- thin pancakes with bananas, condensed milk, chocolate - 30 baht. Fried in second place sausages various bizarre shapes - 20-40 baht. Boiled corn- 20 baht. Warmly recommend green mango with salt and pepper- 25 baht.

Food in restaurants and cafes in Pattaya

Cafes and restaurants in Thailand are divided into tourist and authentic. The first ones work for tourists who are not ready to part with their usual diet. The choice of cuisine from all over the world, including Japanese, Russian and Mexican. We managed to have dinner at Mikes Mexican Restaurant in Pattaya. Average check per person - 700 rubles, which is generally not bad for Russia, but expensive for Asia.

  • 7-eleven and Family Mart stores sell appetizer "onigiri". It costs only 25 baht, it is a triangle of rice with different fillings, wrapped in a sheet of nori. It turns out such a king roll, which you immediately eat up.
  • Big C or Tesco supermarkets have prepared food trays. This is a very cheap food option. For example, the cost of breakfast (fried egg with rice) - 15 baht. A bowl of soup or curry 20 baht.
  • At Tesco, pay attention to yellow price tags. These are foods that are nearing their expiration date and need to be eaten as soon as possible.
  • Fruits such as bananas, watermelons, pineapples and durians worth buying on the sides of streets and large highways. Sometimes you can find pickup trucks selling directly from the back of mangoes at 3 kg for 100 baht. It is profitable and safe - take it!
