Fish pie cheese

Homemade pastry with fish filling is a very tasty and satisfying snack. Therefore, we offer you to try this great recipe. Usually, fish in savory pastries is complemented with rice, but we think that you will like it much more with potatoes. Yeast turns out lush and tender. It can be eaten alone or with rice as a side dish. Get the ingredients you need and start cooking. You will not regret!

Ingredients

For yeast dough

  • wheat flour (highest grade) - 500 g;
  • chicken eggs - 2 pcs.;
  • cow's milk (3.2% fat) - 150 ml;
  • drinking water - 100 ml;
  • sunflower oil - 30 g;
  • butter (72.5% fat) - 30 g;
  • sugar - 3 tbsp. l;
  • salt - 1/4 tsp;
  • high-speed yeast - 10 g.

For fish and potato filling

  • fresh fish cheese - 400 g;
  • onions - 100 g;
  • potatoes - 150 g;
  • cow's milk (3.2% fat) - 30 g;
  • sunflower oil - 30 g;
  • salt and black ground pepper - to taste.

Cooking steps

Step #1. Start the recipe by kneading the yeast dough. To do this, take a small saucepan, pour cow's milk with water into it.

1. Put the saucepan on a low heat and heat the mixture a little so that it becomes warm.

2. Then take the pan off the heat and pour the milk and water into a deep bowl. Dilute the yeast in a warm mixture, and then add sugar and 1 tbsp. l. flour. Wait a bit. The yeast should start to rise.

3. Then put the butter in a large saucepan and melt it until liquid.

4. Add sunflower oil and a mass of risen yeast to the pan. Crack fresh eggs in there.

5. Sift wheat flour through a sieve, and then gradually start adding it to the pan. Knead the dough with vigorous hand movements. It should be elastic and soft. Leave the base for the pie in a warm place for 2 hours and start preparing the filling.

Step #2. Peel the potatoes, rinse thoroughly under running water, dry with a kitchen towel. This recipe involves a special preparation of potatoes. If you do everything as directed, then the fish and potato pie will turn out delicious. Cut each potato into small pieces and place in a small saucepan. Separately, boil a sufficient amount of water and pour boiling water over the tubers. Put the covered pot with potatoes on a small fire. Cook the stuffing under the lid until completely cooked (about 20 minutes). Don't salt!

Step #3. Now take the onion, peel it from the husk, wash and finely chop. Place a heavy skillet over medium heat and heat up. Add sunflower oil to it. When the oil is hot, put the chopped onion into the pan. Fry the onion until golden brown (about 3 minutes). Keep stirring the onion all the time.

Step #4. When the potatoes are cooked, remove the pot from the heat. Drain the liquid in which the filling was prepared. Mash hot potatoes with a potato masher. You can also do this by running the cooked vegetables through a sieve. Add cow's milk to mashed potatoes. Then send the fried onions to the pan, mix thoroughly. It's time to salt and pepper the potato-onion mass.

Step number 5. The potato part of the filling is ready, it remains to deal with the fish. The recipe involves the use of the type of fish that is indicated in the ingredients, but you can use any other to your taste. It certainly won't hurt the cake. Take raw fish and cut it into fillets (remove the spine, bones). Then cut the fish fillet into pieces and salt them. The preparation of the filling is completed. Now you can see for yourself that the recipe is very simple.

Step #6. Sprinkle the table with a little flour. Put the yeast dough on it and divide it into two equal parts. Roll one part of the flour base into a layer. Its thickness should be about 1 cm. Carefully grease a baking dish with a diameter of 28-29 cm with sunflower oil. After laying the layer in the mold so that you can form the sides. Leave the form with the base in a warm place for 10 minutes, because the dough should be a little distanced.

Step #7. When the base has risen, put all the mashed potatoes with onions on it. Carefully flatten the potatoes with a regular spoon. Arrange the fish fillets on top of the potatoes. Try to distribute the filling evenly. Thus, the recipe will be a success, and the potatoes will come out wonderful. Rest assured that you will enjoy every bite.

Step #8. Take the remaining yeast dough. Roll it into a layer in the same way as the first time. Close the fish and potato filling tightly with a layer of dough. Form a cake by gluing the edges of the bottom and top layers together so as to avoid gaps. Follow the recipe as closely as possible to avoid the stuffing coming out and achieve the desired result.

At this stage, the recipe allows you to show a little imagination. You can make decorations from pieces of dough if you wish. Pierce the top of the pie with a fork in several places, and then place the baking dish in a warm place for 15 minutes to allow the appetizer to stand.

Step #9. Preheat the oven to 180-190 degrees. This recipe is also unique.

  • The baking temperature will depend on how browned you want the fish and potato pie to be. When the oven warms up well, send the baking dish there.
  • Cook the fish pie for 35-40 minutes. He should brown.
  • Before you take out a snack, be sure to check it for readiness with a special wooden skewer or an ordinary toothpick. Pierce the fish and potato pie in several places. If there is no dough left on the toothpick, then the savory pastries are baked.
  • Remove the finished fish and potato pie from the oven. Let the unsweetened pastry cool in the mold and only then take it out.
