Apple strudel in a slow cooker from ready-made dough. Strudel in a slow cooker. What is needed for cooking

Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 1 kg (I have chicken thighs on a substrate)
  • Potato - 1 kg
  • Onion - 2 pcs.
  • Carrot - 1 pc.
  • Garlic to taste
  • Salt pepper
  • Seasoning
  • Bay leaf

For the strudel dough:

  • Kefir - 100 ml
  • Eggs - 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil - 4 tbsp. (+ butter for greasing the dough)
  • Flour - 350-400 gr.
  • Soda - 1 tsp

How to cook strudel:

I cooked strudel with potatoes and chicken in the Panasonic 18 multicooker (4.5 l bowl, 670 W power).

To begin with, we will make dough for strudel, for this we mix kefir with an egg, salt, vegetable oil, soda and flour. Add flour in portions so that the dough is not very steep, otherwise the strudel will be harsh in taste. Knead the dough, put in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.

At this time, fry the chicken pieces in a small amount of vegetable oil in the “Baking” mode for 20 minutes (I pre-marinated the chicken in soy sauce (4 tablespoons) with the addition of black ground pepper).

Turn the chicken over, add chopped carrots and one onion, mix and fry for another 10 minutes in the same mode.

Finely chop the second onion and fry in vegetable oil in a pan, cool slightly. Divide the dough for the strudel into 2 parts, roll each thinly, grease well with vegetable oil and lay out the fried onion filling.

Roll both parts into a roll, cut into pieces 2.5 - 3 cm.

Cut the potatoes into cubes, put on the chicken.

Pour boiling water over so that the potatoes are not completely covered with water, do not forget to season, salt.

Now put our strudels on top of the potatoes (do not place them too close).

Close the lid of the multicooker, set the "Baking" mode for 40 minutes.

Hearty and delicious strudel with chicken and potatoes are ready! :good:

If you don’t like messing around with the dough, but want to cook something delicious for your family tea party, then this recipe for puff pastry strudel is just for you. Such pastries are so easy to prepare that even a novice hostess can handle it. After all, what is needed for this? Buy ready-made puff pastry in the store, defrost it, roll it out, lay out the prepared filling, roll everything into a roll and bake for 25 minutes. My Panasonic-18 multicooker copes with such pastries perfectly well. The dough does not burn and browns well. Therefore, I suggest that you cook apple strudel in a slow cooker, the taste of which will be appreciated by all your family members. In addition, it will also help out if guests unexpectedly come to you - in half an hour a hot roll for tea will already be on the table.

Personally, my strudel with apples in a slow cooker always turns out to be unusually tasty. The dough acquires a slightly crispy, but at the same time soft crust, and the filling is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth .. Let's get started.

Cooking method

  1. If you, like me, bought frozen puff pastry, then you need to defrost it. In the meantime, you can start preparing our apple filling.

    Peel the apples, cut out the core from each and chop.

  2. Put the apple slices in the pan and simmer over low heat with the lid closed for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. I note that you can take ordinary sugar, but I like to add brown sugar to the strudel filling, with it the pastries are not only tastier, but also much more aromatic. Mix well and simmer on the fire for another 5 minutes. The finished filling should be slightly cooled.

  4. While the filling is cooling, we need to divide our defrosted dough into two parts and roll each of them into a thin layer. I have enough dough for 2 rolls, but I bake one at a time in a slow cooker, so first I roll out a layer for one strudel.

  5. Put the filling on the bottom edge of the dough, carefully leveling it along the entire length of the layer.

  6. Bend the edges of the dough so that the filling does not leak out during baking.

  7. Roll into a roll, giving it the shape of a semicircle, so that it is convenient to bake the strudel in a slow cooker.

  8. Put the rolled roll into the bowl of the multicooker.

    Close the multicooker lid tightly, turn on the “Baking” mode and set the time to 25 minutes. Let me remind you that I cook apple puff strudel in the Panasonic-18 slow cooker, which bakes quickly, but other models may take longer!

  9. After 25 minutes, the multicooker will give a signal of readiness. You need to open the lid and make sure that the strudel is completely ready, then remove it from the bowl (if not ready, add time and finish baking). In order to easily get the roll out of the multicooker, you can use the steamer. Put the container in the slow cooker and carefully turn the bowl with the roll over. The roll will fall out of the bowl and remain on the plastic container. The finished roll must be cooled and can be served with tea.

Apple strudel in a slow cooker turns out to be very tasty, and everyone who tries a piece will certainly ask for another portion.

You can cook such rolls in a slow cooker not only with apple filling, but also with poppy seeds, pears, raisins, and you can even bake fish or meat strudel. Experiment, change toppings and cook your favorite pastries with your favorite assistant.

Recipe making process

We prepare all the necessary ingredients for making apple strudel.

We clean the apples from the core and cut them into small cubes or slices. We put chopped apples in a saucepan, pour a little water, and simmer them in the “Baking” mode for 25 minutes.

Separate the egg yolk from the protein. Beat the yolk with water until thick foam.

Then, add the flour sifted through a sieve.

Knead a stiff but elastic dough. At the very end, grease the dough with vegetable oil. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 25 minutes.

Sprinkle parchment paper with flour and spread the dough on it. Roll out the dough into a loaf. You don't need to roll it too thin. Sprinkle the dough with half of the sugar.

Then, lay out the apples, raisins, cinnamon and the other half of the sugar. Soak the raisins in hot water for 30 minutes first.

We wrap the dough together with the filling into a roll.

Undoubtedly, a hand-made strudel is worthy of praise. But, everyone understands that sometimes there is no time at all. You can provide a lot of reasons for this: work, children, sudden guests, and the usual laziness on a day off also has a place to be. Therefore, for those who love delicious strudel, but cannot cook everything from A to Z on their own, there are many ways to shorten the cook's path and cook strudel in a slow cooker. This will not change the recipe much.

To begin with, we will find puff pastry in our freezer or in the nearest store. Fortunately, there are no problems with this today. The dough must be thawed naturally and rolled out thinly. This will save 1-1.5 hours of your time in preparing dessert for the table.

Your Redmond slow cooker, or any other, will serve you as a clean and fast wonder - a cupboard that bakes a wonderful cake for the whole family. So, if the dough is already ready, then you can proceed to the following steps.

To make the strudel in the slow cooker tasty and harmonious, we need something that is in your refrigerator. Below is an extensive list of what can be wrapped in a strudel in a slow cooker, and you will select the right ingredients according to your own desire and ability. By the way, and together they are also perfectly combined:

  • Apples;
  • Raisin;
  • Pear;
  • Banana;
  • Cinnamon;
  • Sour cream;
  • Lemon;
  • Sugar;
  • Any nuts;
  • Seedless grapes;
  • Mango;
  • Strawberry;
  • Kiwi;
  • Cherry;
  • Cranberry.

This, of course, is not a complete list of what can be wrapped in a Viennese strudel roll, but at least you will definitely find something in a cold box.

Hard fruits and berries, like apples and pears, are best peeled and simmered in a pan with sugar for 5-10 minutes so that they absorb the sugar syrup and become softer. Although, for taste and color, as they say, there are lovers of crispy berries without sugar. And it will be more interesting for someone to heat apples in honey syrup, add lemon juice and season with cinnamon. Raisins are also pre-soaked in rum tincture.

What to do with the test?

Puff pastry tends to puff up a lot in the oven. We don't need it today. That is why, we bring the dough for strudel in a slow cooker to a thawed state and roll it out as thin as possible.

It is better to spread the dough on a thick, clean kitchen towel. The towel can be wetted and squeezed well. This will help to successfully unstick the fabric from the dough when you make the roll.

Filling

It is better to spread the filling on the test sheet 10-15 cm from the edge so that the roll does not fall apart and lose its shape during the folding process. Spread the pieces of fruit thinly and evenly over the sheet. Do not be greedy, no matter how delicious the recipe may seem to you.

When you start rolling the apple strudel into a log, you will see for yourself that it is full of fruit. For a slow cooker, it is better to roll the strudel into a horseshoe shape, otherwise it simply will not fit into the saucepan.

In the Redmond slow cooker, pastries are cooked for up to 30 minutes. This time is enough for the strudel to be baked until cooked and to delight your guests with a pleasant smell and surprisingly delicate taste.

Video recipe for making strudel in a slow cooker

Strudel is a very common dessert. It is prepared from puff pastry, and as a juicy filling, most often, apples or berries are added. This recipe uses frozen puff pastry and frozen cherries. Cherry strudel in a slow cooker is easy to cook, and the result is excellent. Today we have another delicious dessert in our recipes that your whole family will definitely like.

Cherry Strudel Ingredients:

- 1 layer of puff pastry;
- 100 g of cherries;
- 5 g plums. oils;
- 30 g of premium flour;
- 1 table. l. Sahara.

How to cook cherry strudel in a slow cooker:

10-15 minutes before the start of cooking, take out one layer of frozen dough, leave it to defrost.

Then put the frozen cherries on a plate. Leave the berries to defrost.

Wait for food to thaw. Take some flour and dust the surface where the dough will be rolled out.
Roll out a layer of dough, but not much: the dough should have a thickness of about 4-5 mm.

Cherries by this time should already give juice, drain it. Add sugar to the cherry (both cane and white will do). Mix. For now, leave the cherries in the bowl.

Lubricate the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter.

Drain the juice from the cherries again (if the juice is not drained, the strudel will leak a lot). Spread berries evenly over dough. Do not put cherries on the edges, so that it is convenient to roll the dough into a roll.

Twist the dough into a roll, fasten the edges on the sides tightly.
You can decorate the edges - push them with the cloves of a fork in several places. In this case, the edges of the strudel will be fastened even stronger.

Put the strudel in the multicooker bowl, placing it in an arc.

Put the bowl in the multicooker, close the lid and first set the "Keep warm" or "Keep warm" mode, if it is available in the multicooker. Turn on the mode for 10 minutes. Heating is needed so that the puff pastry rises a little. But you can do without this mode and immediately bake the strudel. After 10 minutes of heating the dough, open the lid of the multicooker and check the dessert.

After that, close the lid again, turn on the “Baking” mode and set the baking time to 50 minutes. After half an hour, gently turn the strudel over. Bake until the end of the mode. It may take less time for the strudel to be ready - this already depends on the power of the multicooker.
