Quail's nest salad, step by step cooking with photo

Recently we were going to visit my mother. Since it is now difficult for my mother to cook meals for the whole crowd, my sister and I agree on such meetings and cook salads and pastries at home. We all already have certain tastes, and every family has favorite salads. But still, there is something that we have not tried yet.

I wanted to cook something new, at the same time and “rehearse” before the New Year. The choice fell on the Quail's Nest salad. Well, or capercaillie. This salad has two names and slightly different recipe variations.
In my opinion, the debut was a success. At least we liked the taste of the salad. Yes, and looks too.
Ingredients
200 g boiled chicken breast
1 small fresh cucumber
1 small pickled cucumber
4 boiled chicken eggs
5 boiled quail eggs (for decoration)
100 g pickled mushrooms
100 g cheese
4 raw potatoes
Vegetable oil for frying
Mayonnaise for salad dressing
Small bunch of green onions
Small bunch of dill
Complexity: average
Time for preparing: 1 hour.
Progress
salad preparation

Boil the chicken fillet in salted water, cool. I did it beforehand. I also pre-boiled the eggs.

I cut the fillet.

I chopped the mushrooms (I have salted mushrooms).

Sliced fresh cucumber.

Then pickled cucumber. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it looks about the same as fresh :)
Cut the cheese into small cubes.

I mixed all the ingredients with mayonnaise.

Cleaned quail eggs.

Chopped green onion.

Then dill.

She set them aside and started preparing the potatoes.

Cooking brushwood from potatoes
I cleaned the potatoes.

I rubbed it on a Korean grater.

Immediately put the grated potatoes in cold water.

Rinse it, put it in a colander, put it on a paper towel.

When the potatoes dried out, they fried them in oil in small portions so that the "twigs" did not stick together. I got four passes. I advise you not to try to save time and put more potatoes. "Khvorost" turns out not so beautiful and can stick together in lumps (I checked :)).

I laid out the fried potatoes on a paper towel.

Salad decoration
She laid out the salad on a flat plate in a slide. Made a small hole in the middle.
Sprinkled with green onions.

Then powdered with dill.

She began to “make a nest”: she laid out the fried potatoes in a circle, covering the sides of the lettuce hill.

In the center laid out boiled quail eggs.

You can make testicles from a mixture of grated yolk, mayonnaise and parsley (or finely chopped mushrooms). But I wanted to use quail. True, in a purified form they are not so beautiful, but they are real.
This is how the nest turned out. Taste with a pleasant crunch, we liked it! Potatoes can not be spared, it will not spoil the salad at all.
