I really love spices. So I made myself these shelves with jars.

Baby food jar. The lids were painted with spray paint.

If you do not have self-adhesive paper, then the jar with the sticker can simply be laminated using a plastic bottle

Circles - this is if you don’t paint the lids, but simply cover the picture on the lid with such a circle.

Sheet with pictures A4

I buy paper at a stationery store. When you buy, pay attention to the perforation (division) of the sheets. Sometimes perforation occurs on the front side. We don't need this. The front side must be intact. Before inserting the printed paper into the printer, peel off the edge so you know exactly where the face is. and where is the wrong side. You can even put a cross on the wrong side.

Well, it’s been a year and a half now that I’ve been actively using these jars. I wash them. They have stood the test of time. Only the caps on the most popular ones are a little worn. It was necessary to varnish them over the paint. This is easy to fix now. But I even like this vintage feel, this trace of exploitation. And I analyze for myself what is more popular for me.

You can greatly simplify your life if you label every jar of canned food, cereal or spices. To do this, you can use ready-made stickers, the templates of which you can download from this page.

  • stickers are already ready for printing on A4 format;
  • You can download sticker templates for free;
  • Only good quality photographs were used for stickers.

Stickers for spice jars

By printing this A4 sheet, you will receive 24 stickers for spice jars. Each sticker measures 3 cm wide and 4 cm high. The name of each spice is accompanied by its photo as a background.

Stickers for cans of cereals

The cereal stickers have a size of 5 by 4 cm. The corners were rounded to make the stickers last longer. There were 16 stickers placed on a regular sheet format.

Stickers for canned fruit juice and jam

These stickers are already larger in size: 6 cm wide and 5 cm high. The same style is maintained: rounded corners, a beautiful background of the fruit corresponding to the inscription.

Stickers for canned vegetables

Hi all!

Today my review will be dedicated to spice jars RAITAN from IKEA.

Vendor code: 400.647.02

Dimensions:

Height: 8 cm

Volume: 15 words

Price: 99 rub. for 4 pcs.

Product description: Glass, Polypropylene.

The transparent material from which the container is made allows you to see the contents no matter where it is placed.

Designer: IKEA of Sweden

Care instructions:

The glass container is dishwasher safe. The lid must be washed by hand.

One of our lids accidentally ended up in the dishwasher... and this is what happened to it...

My usage experience:

My jars are already more than three years old. And with the exception of one lid that ended up in the dishwasher, the rest are fine. The lids do not burst and the paint does not peel off. They close as tightly as they did on the first day of purchase.

In addition, I would like to note its good strength. Several times I accidentally dropped the jars both on the table and on the floor, but the jars were not damaged.

I love spices and I have a lot of them. Therefore, the question soon became how to store all this stuff. My husband came to the rescue by making a spice rack like this.

For me, this is the most convenient option for storing spices. Since everything is visible and neat.

I scoop up spices from jars with a spoon.

And I advise you. Because using your hands firstly is not so convenient and secondly it is not hygienic.

My jars contain:

Bouillon

I try not to use such dry broths from packages, but sometimes it helps.

Why do I need so many spices?

I think most people will have a question Why do I need so many spices?! Therefore, in order not to answer everyone in the comments, I will answer immediately in the review. You won't believe it! I cook with them. Despite the fact that I don’t add tons of seasonings to my food. It’s just that some people love this business, and some don’t. Plus, seasonings in moderation are good for you! And everything “goes away” for me in an average year. Seasoning expiration dates vary. On average, this is about two years. I personally remember when each of my seasonings expires, but if someone is afraid to forget, then you can put a sticker or price tag with the expiration date on the bottom of the jars. And don't spoil the appearance. But I have never had a situation where I threw away something that had expired. It’s just that everyone who comes to visit and sees our shelf immediately begins to want the same one, and for the next holiday they order the same jars with labels. So I constantly have to pour out spices, which generally prevents them from even getting even minimally close to the expiration date. And I have to constantly replenish the jars... It’s also not at all necessary to fill all the jars to the top. I don’t buy anything specific in large quantities and don’t even fill half the jar, but only at the bottom.

Nowadays there are a lot of ready-made stickers for spices on sale, but you can make them yourself. The jars can be washed and everything will remain intact. Moreover, it can turn out much better and more interesting than ready-made ones. Since we can make labels of different shapes (round, oval, square), add decorative elements (frames, drawings), make a label in any color and choose any font for inscriptions. In general, there is a lot of scope for imagination!

DIY Ma erased class on how to make labels for jars

We will need:

  • double sided adhesive tape
  • scotch
  • scissors
  • printed blanks (ovals)
  • pen (since I decided to write by hand)

Previously, in addition to oval contours, I had blanks made with the names of seasonings. Frames were inserted on an A4 sheet of paper, and the name was typed in them. But since I'm constantly trying new seasonings, I constantly had to print new labels. But since I then retyped and reprinted for quite a long time (and I don’t have a printer at home)... so I decided that it would be most convenient for me to sign all the inscriptions by hand. And at home make a stock of templates (ready-made printed frames).

I bought black watercolor paper (A4), and on the computer in Word I inserted a lot of frames in the form of ovals. Next, I cut each piece without cutting along the contour.

Then I wrote the name of the seasoning.
