Discreet charm of the bourgeoisie restaurant. Cafe-restaurant "the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie"

I am writing directly from the scene. While I’m writing this review, I’m at one of the restaurant’s tables. And here are the first impressions: they were received very kindly. I came with friends - they had a drink, I had something to eat. I would like to immediately note the interior, made in pleasant pastel colors. The atmosphere is not at all depressing, but, on the contrary, relaxing. Rhythmic dance music plays, which is not at all annoying and keeps you in a cheerful and cheerful mood. The hall is spacious and calm. There are sofas and soft armchairs around the tables. Thus, comfort encourages an increase in appetite. While I was writing this review, they brought the pasta I ordered. It's great and the portions are big. According to friends sitting nearby who ordered whiskey and cola and some other cocktails, the place deserves to come here again.

How I liked this “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie”! To be honest, I heard about this place for a long time. One of my gourmet friends once highly recommended it to me. However, as I passed by it, I somehow didn’t dare to go there. From the outside it looks too presentable and expensive. And last weekend, being nearby, I finally decided to go into it. Hunger and curiosity did their job. And here I am in the cafe.

What's your first impression? Very stylish and, as my friend says, “expensive and rich.” The first floor of the cafe is divided into two large areas: smoking and non-smoking. The second floor is closed during the day. Sitting down on a comfortable sofa by the open window and placing a soft pillow under my back, I gladly took advantage of the young waiter’s offer to have breakfast. Note that the time was one and a quarter in the afternoon. So the very offer to have breakfast rather than lunch already justifies the name of the establishment. Moreover, as I was told, breakfast had just begun to be prepared.

The menu had a fairly rich selection of breakfasts, but it was the establishment’s signature breakfasts that caught my attention. There are four of them, but I remember the names of two: “morning in Italy” and “morning in Spain”. I chose my beloved Spain. The stay in Spain cost me only about 270 rubles. Which, you see, is mere nonsense for a stylish establishment on Lubyanka. The above amount included: several pieces of a fluffy omelette with a card and onions baked inside; finely chopped tomatoes prepared in a special way; sauce a la tartar; a piece of fried thinly sliced meat and, in my case, coffee.

Everything was brought very quickly, the service was delicate and unobtrusive, and the taste of all components of the breakfast without exception was beyond praise. Moreover, the cafe, as I noticed, is not empty even on a warm Sunday afternoon. Which, in my opinion, speaks volumes about its popularity. Personally, I noticed several regular visitors of a rather glamorous appearance who took a liking to different corners. I think, I’m even sure that by five or six in the evening there will hardly be an empty table here. Such establishments are not often found in Moscow. They have a special creative, bagelic atmosphere that is in no way reminiscent of the vanity fair of most similar places.

The “modest adoration of the bourgeoisie” has become anything but modest. Having removed several tables, the organizers organized a large bar counter, the music was turned up louder and, most importantly, the sound became more “harsh” or something. The policy in general has changed a little. I don’t know how long ago, because until recently the last time I was there was in early spring. As for the kitchen, it has changed little or remains at the same level. They also continue to delight with various alcoholic promotions such as for two glasses get another one free. Or on the eve of the New Year, some gift.
Previously, of course, it was more calm and peaceful there. The music wasn't that loud, but now it's normal not to talk to your interlocutor. Sometimes you have to shout in your ear like at a disco. But if you take comfortable sofas at the end of the hall on the first or second floor, then it becomes more or less tolerable and calm. But it’s also not the same. And so the establishment, as before, remains a great place for relaxation and gatherings with friends. I hope that my last dissatisfaction is just the variability of my mood and the lack of desire that day, as they say, to “hang out.”
