Meanwhile, I set the margarine to melt. This can be done in the microwave, in a water bath, or simply on the stove. I choose the last option, but here it is important that the margarine does not start to boil, so do not make the heat too high and when it has melted by about half, remove from the stove, then everything will happen on its own. I pour it into the beaten eggs and mix. Then add 2 cups of flour and mix. Baking powder or baking soda this recipe not needed at all.

If you want to make them chocolate, then it's time to add a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder, mix again and you're done, but this time I'm doing it without it. Do you still have an old Soviet electric waffle iron? Or perhaps there is a new one? Great! Because we can cook thin, crispy waffles in an electric waffle iron - a recipe from childhood!

Remember the delicious wafer rolls with condensed milk or cream? These are still sold in stores and worn on beaches. But store-bought straws are not the same, the waffles in them are not crunchy, and the filling is cloying and so heavy that one straw weighs 200 grams. So let's get out our waffle irons and bake homemade waffles - crispy, tasty, thin!

Let's roll the wafer rolls and fill them with your favorite cream. And it will turn out warm family tea party, and your children will then happily remember the waffle rolls and ask you for the recipe for crispy waffles so they can treat their children to them! 🙂

This is the recipe for the crispiest, but also the most high-calorie waffles. But you can make waffles with kefir, and with milk without butter, and even dietary waffles with whole grain flour. For every taste! And we will try all these recipes. Come on in for Waffle Week! 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 5 eggs;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 1 glass of sugar (a little less is possible);
  • 1 and 1/3 cups of flour (I have a glass with a volume of 200 g, it holds 130 g of flour without a slide. So, 1 and 1/3 cups is approximately 180 g of flour).
  • 1 tablespoon of odorless sunflower oil - so that the waffles do not stick to the waffle iron.

Note: to reduce fat content, you can replace half the butter with sour cream, take 100 g of butter and 100 g of sour cream.

How to bake:

Olya, a regular reader and author of delicious children's recipes on the site, told me the recipe for the dough for crispy waffles. This recipe came complete with an electric waffle iron, “native”, so to speak, and therefore the most successful.

I improved it a little more, taking into account the information found on the Internet. In the original, you need to melt the butter, but it’s even better to just soften it: then the waffles won’t stick to the waffle iron.

So, beat the softened butter with sugar using a mixer.

Add eggs and beat some more.

Sift flour into the dough and mix.

The consistency of the dough should be like pancakes.

To prevent the waffles from sticking to the waffle iron, add 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil. I did this after the 2nd waffle: the first two things had to be separated from the surface of the waffle iron with a knife, but after adding oil, the waffles came off perfectly, and there was no need to grease the waffle iron each time. Once before the first waffle was enough.

The dough is ready! Now you can start an exciting activity – making homemade waffles!

My parents gave me the waffle iron. Once upon a time, delicious waffles were baked in it, and then for a long time not used. We found her while cleaning out the garage. I was very happy, because I had long wanted to learn how to bake homemade waffles, but at the same time I was slightly worried whether the waffle iron would work after 10 or 15 years of oblivion? I wiped it thoroughly, dried it, and lubricated the surfaces properly. sunflower oil and plugged it into the outlet. A couple of minutes of waiting... and - hurray! – the waffle iron started to heat up! Works! So there will be waffles. 🙂

Just do not touch the surface of the waffle iron with your finger to check if it is hot. Not only can you get burned, there is a risk of getting an electric shock. To check whether the waffle iron is warm enough, you can drop a drop of batter on it: if it starts to cook, then you can start baking waffles. It takes 4-5 minutes to warm up, but then the unit will heat up and the process will begin.

Pour 1-2 tablespoons of dough onto the bottom surface. The exact amount is determined by experiment. If you pour a lot, the dough will run slightly over the edges, and you can carefully remove it with a knife. If you pour too little, the waffle will not fill the entire area of ​​the waffle iron. It's not scary, it'll just be a small tube.

So, pour the dough, close the waffle iron and press it by the handles. Carefully! – at this moment hot steam flies out of the waffle iron, so put an oven mitt on your hand.

We hold it a little, and then you can let it go and let it bake. One waffle is baked from 20-30 seconds to 1.5-3 minutes, depending on the power and settings of your waffle iron. To find out if it’s ready, open the waffle iron slightly and look in... It’s still pale, which means you need to hold it for a couple more minutes.

But now it's time to take it out! We act quickly because ready-made waffles quickly harden and become brittle.

Use a knife or spatula to pry up the waffle, transfer it from the waffle iron to a board or plate and quickly, while still soft, roll it into a tube.

Be careful, the waffle is hot. Twisting waffle roll, hold it for a few seconds to prevent it from unwinding. Hooray, it worked! The first tube is not lumpy. Place it on a plate and start baking the second waffle.

This is not a quick task - from a portion of dough you get 15 waffles, and since each one is baked for 4 minutes, then general cooking will take 1 hour. But how great it is to sit in the kitchen, in the warmth, chat with your family about this and that, and then taste crispy homemade waffles together!

So a whole pile of straws is ready! We couldn't resist and tried two without filling at once. By the way, it’s very tasty, you can eat waffles just like that, without cream!

Or you can fill them with condensed milk, or custard, or chocolate, or protein... There are many options! And you and I will slowly try them out - because we already know how to cook thin, crispy waffles in an electric waffle iron!

Another recipe from childhood that my mother reminded me of - thin, almost lacy and crispy waffles. However, this recipe requires an electric waffle iron. My mother has had it at home since Soviet times, carefully preserved and working conscientiously. And by some incredible miracle, I bought myself a brand new one, but practically the same. I even had to buy an adapter for it, because... The plug is not suitable for the Euro sockets that are now installed in all homes.

To prepare waffles you need a little skill, namely at the moment of rolling them into a tube. As soon as you take out a flexible, soft, pancake-like wafer, you should immediately place it on the work surface and give it the desired shape - a tube or a cone. A second of delay - and it has already hardened.

The recipe is universal - these tubes can be filled with any thick cream, or used as an ice cream cone. But we always crunched them empty, because they don’t taste any better.

Ingredients:

2 eggs
125 g butter
150 g sugar
150 g flour
50 g starch
100 g warm water

Preparation:

Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave.

Place the eggs and sugar in a large bowl and beat for 8-10 minutes or until the mixture has doubled in size and is fluffy and light in consistency.

Pour the warm butter into the whisking egg mixture in a thin stream. When the ingredients are combined, turn off the mixer.

Sift the flour and starch on top and start mixing with a whisk, adding warm water from time to time.

Once the dough is smooth, set it aside for 30 minutes to rise.

Plug in the electric waffle iron and it should warm up well.

Open it and use a brush to brush the top and bottom with melted butter.

Depending on the size of your waffle iron, pour 1/4 to 1/2 ladle of batter into the center, then immediately cover with the top lid and press it firmly to the bottom. Hold it like this without letting go for 1.5-2 minutes. Then open the waffle iron and look - the baked dessert should be ruddy and golden in color. If it is still pale, cover again.

Use a thin, flat spatula or fork to lift the finished waffle and transfer it to a dry work surface. Without wasting a minute, immediately roll it into a tube and set it aside.

Cook all the waffles in this manner.

It is advisable to eat them on the same day; over time they begin to soften a little.

I liked doing the same waffle cone and fill with ice cream. This is just a perfect union!
