Beer house "At the King of Brabant"
King Branabant has a themed beer hall where visitors can taste Czech cuisine and beer in a medieval atmosphere. The waiters' clothing, furniture and even behavior correspond to how it was several hundred years ago.

Like most Prague establishments, the beer hall is located underground and divided into several rooms. It is worth noting the interesting interior design - the rooms are decorated with wonderful photographs on the walls and accessories reminiscent of household items. For example, a clothes hanger in a pub is shaped like a rake, and ashtrays and cutlery containers are shaped like buckets and basins.

I’ll probably start by listing the most popular dishes of Czech cuisine.
- Utopenets is a sausage marinated in vinegar with onions, red pepper and spices. Served with beer.
- Smazak is a traditional snack. In fact, it’s breaded fried cheese.
- Garlic – garlic soup, which becomes most popular with the onset of cold weather. In restaurants it is served in a bread pot.
- Goulash. A beef dish that looks nothing like Hungarian goulash or even German goulash soup. Often served in bread.
- Svickova is the “brother” of Czech goulash. Represents a beef tenderloin which is served with creamy or sour cream sauce, as well as dumplings, lemon, and sometimes cranberry sauce.

- Dumplings are dumplings made from regular or potato flour. Regular dumplings often replace bread or a side dish, and sweet ones (for example, stuffed with fruit filling) are served for dessert.
- Oplatki - large round wafers with with different fillings, Karlovy Vary dessert. In Karlovy Vary itself you can buy hot patches individually. Everywhere in the Czech Republic, payment cards are sold in stores (in boxes of several pieces). A nice souvenir from the Czech Republic.

I move on to 20 popular places in Prague where you can eat, drink beer or just relax with a cup of coffee. Here will be presented not only the establishments that I have visited, but also establishments recommended by local residents and other tourists, which I have included in my list. I share it with you, and all you have to do is choose.
No. 1. Restaurant U Modre Ruze
According to reviews from tourists, the restaurant in the basement is closed as of December 2018!
Restaurant serving Czech cuisine. Not only is it located in the center of the Old Town, but also in a very colorful medieval cellar. We entered it by chance, after the neighboring restaurants seemed a bit too high. As a result, we dined there twice, and if we didn’t have to leave, we would have gone again.
The menu presents almost all national Czech dishes at very reasonable prices.
On our first lunch we tried baked knee (290czk) and goulash soup (169 czk) in bread, 2 types of beer (50czk+35czk):
Lunch cost 544 crowns + tip (23 euros)
Second time: goulash with dumplings (197czk), “Prague delicacy” (assorted different meats) with dumplings (238czk), fruit dumplings (99czk), three beers (35czk+35czk+50czk), tea (50czk)

One of the popular restaurants in Prague, also in the Old Town. In summer there is a summer veranda behind the restaurant (you need to go around, there are signs).
We ordered: baked duck with stewed cabbage and 4 types of dumplings (333czk), appetizer toast with beer cheese (85czk), Budvar light and dark beer (45czk+45czk)
In total, lunch cost 508 CZK + tip (22 euros).
In principle, I liked everything, the service was very fast. There are Russian speaking staff.

No. 3. Restaurant Potrefená husa Na Verandách
Our third restaurant. It is located in the Smichov region, on the western bank. We had lunch on the veranda (entrance through the restaurant), the veranda is very cozy.
We ordered smazak with fries (179czk), pork schnitzel with salad, which is very similar to our olive :) (169czk) and two beers (43czk+45czk).
Total amount 436 czk + tip (19 euros)
The fries here were clearly too much, but overall it was a good place. The beer was brought immediately, the food had to wait, but not for long. I didn't notice anything negative about the service.

To get to the bar, you need to go down the stairs (there are signs). We wanted to go in and check this place out, but there was no one in the bar, not even the staff.
No. 12. Restaurant SOVA
New restaurant in Prague with very unusual menu. Restaurant concept - modern kitchen with elements of traditional Czech dishes. You won't try the traditional knee here! Specialties restaurant - salad with smoked carp (they smoke it themselves), veal cheeks stewed in red wine with mashed potatoes and the most unusual thing is beer sorbet made from real dark beer with buckwheat mousse (pictured above). Beer Krusovice, 40 CZK for 0.5l.
