  • Classic mayonnaise – 150 ml,
  • Water – 500 ml.

Preparation:

Clean the herring from scales and entrails, remove the head, tail and fins. Rub the fish carcasses with salt and pepper and place in deep baking tray, on them are onions, cut into large rings or half rings. Pour mayonnaise over everything and pepper a little more. Then carefully pour water along the side. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for 35-40 minutes.

You can garnish herring with boiled potatoes. Additionally, you can sprinkle cooked fish green onions or finely chopped parsley.

Fresh herring with vegetables

From fresh herring you can prepare a kind of stew in which all the components harmoniously complement each other.

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • Fresh herring – 2 pcs.,
  • Onions (large) – 4 pcs.,
  • Carrots (medium) – 4 pcs.,
  • Potatoes (large) – 4 pcs.,
  • Dill seeds – 1 teaspoon,
  • Salt, ground black pepper - to taste,
  • Vegetable oil (refined) – 4 tbsp. spoons (1+3),
  • Warm water – 1 glass.

Preparation:

Clean the herring from scales, fins, entrails, remove heads and tails. Cut the fish into small pieces 4 cm thick, add salt and pepper. Peel the vegetables, cut the onion into half rings, carrots into circles, and potatoes into half-slices of approximately 1.5 cm. Divide all prepared products, including dill seeds, into 2 servings.

Grease a thick-bottomed pan with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Lay out the first portion of food in layers: onion, fish, dill seeds, potatoes, salt, pepper, carrots. Then in the same way - the second part of herring, vegetables and spices. Top everything with the rest vegetable oil and pour in a glass warm water.

Place the pan over high heat, bring the stew to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 35-40 minutes. No need to stir.

E If you don’t like it when you come across fish bones while eating, then prepare this dish from herring fillets. In addition, for piquancy, you can add a few slices of lemon, placing them on a layer of dill seeds.

Quick heh from fresh herring

This dish will appeal to those who love Korean cuisine. The herring turns out spicy, spicy and beautiful.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh herring – 2 pcs.,
  • Carrots (medium) – 2 pcs.,
  • Garlic – 5 cloves,
  • Onion (large) – 1 pc.,
  • Salt, ground hot red pepper - to taste,
  • Ground black pepper – 1 teaspoon,
  • Seasoning for carrots in Korean - 3-4 teaspoons,
  • Sugar – 3 teaspoons,
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp. spoons,
  • Vinegar (9%) – 2.5 tbsp. spoons,
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp. spoons.

Preparation:

To prepare this dish, use a glass or enamel dishes. Clean the herring from scales and entrails, remove the tail, head and all bones. Cut the fillet into pieces no thicker than 1 cm. Cut the carrots into very thin strips (or chop on a special Korean carrot grater) and mix with the fish. Pour in vinegar and stir. Leave to marinate for 45-50 minutes.

Then add the onion, chopped into half rings, garlic, passed through a press, into the container with the herring, soy sauce, salt, sugar, seasoning for Korean carrots, black and red pepper. Boil vegetable oil and pour it over the spices and only then mix everything. Cover the container with a tight lid and place in the refrigerator for a day. When serving, you can sprinkle the heh with finely chopped cilantro.

Fresh herring in cucumber-tomato sauce

Herring with tomato puree and pickles – original and hearty dish, which pleasantly diversifies casual table or will decorate Sunday lunch.

Ingredients (for 6 servings):

  • Fresh herring – 2 pcs.,
  • Pickled cucumbers (barrel, medium) – 6 pcs.,
  • Tomato puree – 100 g,
  • Sugar - to taste, depending on the acidity of the tomato puree,
  • Butter – 50 g + for greasing the pan,
  • Wheat flour – 2 tbsp. spoons,
  • Fish broth – 500 ml,
  • Bay leaf – 2-3 pcs.,
  • Black peppercorns – 7-8 pcs.,
  • Salt, ground black pepper - to taste.

Preparation:

Clean the herring from scales, fins, entrails, remove the tail and head, remove the fish from the ridge and, if possible, remove small bones. Cut each fillet into three pieces. Make broth from the ridges and tails, adding salt, black peppercorns and Bay leaf.

Peel the cucumbers and cut them into thin slices. Lightly grease the pan with butter, place the fish pieces skin side down, add tomato puree, sugar, ground black pepper and strained broth. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer covered for 30 minutes.

Then take out the fish and cucumbers, put them in a deep bowl and cover so that they do not cool. Strain the broth again. Sift the flour and mix with pieces of butter until an oily lump forms, add it to the boiling broth and cook the sauce until thick. If desired, you can add finely chopped parsley at the end of cooking.

Place the fish pieces on plates, place cucumber slices on them and pour the sauce over everything. You can garnish herring in cucumber-tomato sauce with boiled potatoes, rice or a salad of fresh vegetables.

Lightly salted herring spicy salting

When talking about fresh herring dishes, we cannot ignore the salting of this fish, because it is in its salted form that it best reveals its taste.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh herring – 2 pcs.,
  • Coarse salt – 60 g,
  • Sugar – 30 g,
  • Black peppercorns – 6 pcs.,
  • Pepper sweet pea– 6 pcs.,
  • Coriander grains – 1 teaspoon,
  • Bay leaf – 6 pcs.,
  • Water – 500 ml.

Preparation:

First, prepare the brine - in a saucepan, mix water, salt, sugar, black and allspice and bay leaf. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer over low heat for 7-8 minutes. Let cool.

Rinse the herring under running water; there is no need to gut or clean it, but the gills need to be pulled out. Place the herring in suitable container, for example, sprinkle coriander grains into a large bowl for jellied meat, pour in cold brine, place under pressure and put in a cool place. If it’s hot at home, it’s better to keep the herring in the refrigerator on the bottom shelf. Preparation time – 1 day.

Pickled herring

The recipe for pickled herring came to us from the Netherlands, where they work real miracles with this fish.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh herring – 2 pcs.,
  • Onions (large) – 2 pcs.,
  • Carrots (medium) – 1 pc.,
  • Lemon (not very large) – 1 pc.,
  • Sugar – 60 g,
  • Bay leaf – 8-10 pcs.,
  • Black peppercorns – 10 pcs.

Preparation:

Gut the herring, remove scales, heads and tails, remove fillets from the backbone, remove all small bones if possible and cut the fish into small pieces. Cut the onion into rings, the lemon into slices, and chop the carrots on a coarse grater. In a mortar and sugar, crush the black peppercorns (you should get a coarse grind).

IN glass jar with a screw-on lid, lay out in layers: 1/4 of an onion, 2 bay leaves, a quarter of a carrot, pieces of herring, sugar and pepper, lemon wedges. Repeat this process 3 more times. Pack all ingredients tightly, close the lid and refrigerate for 3 days.

Serve pickled herring with fresh black bread, baked potatoes and salted “green” butter (combine softened butter, parsley leaves and salt in a food processor).

At the end of the article, let’s say: all of the above dishes can be prepared from freshly frozen herring. In this case, let it defrost on its own - either in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Do not use water or a microwave oven to defrost, otherwise the fish will simply fall apart.

Salted herring dishes.

Herring and green bean salad
300 g bean pods,
200 g of spicy salted herring,
150 g potatoes, onions,
125 g mayonnaise.
Stew bean pods in small quantity water. Herring fillet, cut into slices boiled potatoes mix with mayonnaise, finely chopped onion, beans.

Herring, chopped with nuts
500 g herring,
3 eggs,
1 apple (but if the herring is very salty, you need 2 apples),
large onion,
12-15 walnuts,
3 tbsp. spoons of mayonnaise, milk.
Soak the fillet in cold milk and pass through a meat grinder along with a peeled and seeded apple, two hard-boiled eggs, sautéed onions and walnut kernels. Mix the resulting mass thoroughly, season with mayonnaise and place in a herring bowl in an oblong mound. Place the herring head on one end of the herring bowl, and the tail on the opposite end. Level the mixture with a knife. Sprinkle chopped herring on top boiled egg, garnish with finely chopped green onions.

Chopped horse mackerel with seaweed
Ingredients:
Spicy salted horse mackerel - 300 gr., frozen seaweed - 150 gr., wheat bread - 3 slices, onion - 1 pc., fresh apple - / pc., eggs - 1 pc., vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. spoons, vinegar 3% - 1 tbsp. spoon.

Preparation:
The seaweed is thawed, washed and boiled for 15-20 minutes, changing the water three times, then cooled. Horse mackerel is cut into fillets without skin and bones, passed through a meat grinder with bread (soaked in water), onions, boiled seaweed, and an apple (with the seed nest removed). Mix everything thoroughly, season with vegetable oil and vinegar. The mass is cooled, placed in a herring bowl, giving it an oval-oblong shape, sprinkled with chopped boiled egg.

Homemade herring
500 g herring,
150 g vegetable oil,
one onion,
40 g prepared mustard.
Coat the herring fillet, without cutting into pieces, with mustard on both sides, roll tightly with a roller, place tightly in a jar, pour in sunflower or olive oil until the oil covers the fish completely. Then leave the jar in the cold for one day. Serve as follows: cut the herring into pieces, place in a herring bowl, cover (garnish) with onion, cut into rings. Drizzle everything on top with a small amount of the oil in which the herring was kept.

Herring with fried onions
250 g herring fillet,
1 onion,
2-3 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil,
1 tbsp. spoon of tomato puree,
1 teaspoon sugar,
ground black pepper.
Cut the onion into strips, fry until soft in vegetable oil, then add tomato puree and mix well, then add sugar, ground black pepper and cool. When serving, add fried onion and tomato onto pieces of herring fillet.

Herring in Ukrainian
200-300 g salted herring fillet,
1 onion,
4 tbsp. tablespoons finely chopped green onions,
1 fresh cucumber, 2 fresh tomatoes,
2 tbsp. spoons of dry white wine,
2 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil,
lemon acid,
3-4 sprigs of greenery,
4-5 olives.
Place half of the soaked herring fillet on an oval dish, cover it with a mixture of finely chopped onions and green onions, and put another layer of herring on top. Pour over marinade prepared from wine, vegetable oil, diluted citric acid(1-2 pinches of acid per 1 tablespoon of water). Place the dish in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours. When serving, garnish with slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, and herbs.

Herring salad
400 g pickled herring,
1 onion,
2 apples,
2 pickled cucumbers,
2-3 canned carrots,
100 g yogurt,
100 g mayonnaise,
1 tbsp. spoon of chopped greens.
Peel the herring, remove the bones, cut into cubes. Peel vegetables and fruits and also cut into cubes. Mix with mayonnaise, yogurt and herbs. For the salad, mix all the ingredients and place in salad bowls.

Danish salad
4 herrings,
1 small beet (200 g peeled),
4 potatoes of the same size,
1 onion, 1 soft apple,
8 walnut kernels,
2 tbsp. tablespoons chopped parsley.
For the sauce: 125 g sour cream, 100 g yogurt, 1 tbsp. spoon of sunflower oil, 1 tbsp. spoon of fructose.
Wash the beets and potatoes thoroughly with a brush and cook for 20-25 minutes in a small amount of water. Peel the cooled vegetables and cut them into small cubes. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Cut the apple into four parts (can be peeled) and remove the core, cut into thin slices. Crush the walnut kernels coarsely. Cut the herring fillet into thin strips. Mix all prepared products. Mix sour cream, yogurt, sunflower oil and fructose and pour over them herring salad. Season it with parsley. Let the salad soak thoroughly.

Herring salad
8 salted herring fillets,
400 g canned corn,
2 tomatoes, 2 sour apples,
2 tbsp. spoons of lemon juice,
300 g canned tangerines,
2 bunches of green onions,
0.5 heads of lettuce.
Cut the herring into pieces. Drain the corn in a colander. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, remove the skins and cut into cubes. Peel one apple, core, cut into cubes and pour over lemon juice. Drain the tangerines in a colander and collect the juice. Cut the onion into rings. Mix all products and sprinkle with lemon juice. Place the resulting mixture on the lettuce leaves. Cut the second apple into slices, decorate the salad and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.

Norwegian salad
2 salted herrings,
3 eggs,
1 onion,
3 tbsp. spoons of vinegar,
1 tbsp. spoon of margarine,
1 teaspoon mustard,
a pinch of sugar.
Soak the herring, clean it, removing the insides. Cut the fish first lengthwise and then into cubes (not very small). Peel the onion, finely chop and lightly fry in margarine. 2 raw eggs beat, pour in vinegar, and pour this mixture over the onions (the eggs should curl) and season with mustard and sugar. Carefully place the prepared herring in the sauce, and when serving, garnish the dish with parsley and a hard-boiled egg.

roman salad
4 soaked herrings,
5 tomatoes
250 g stewed champignons,
250 g stewed chanterelles or porcini mushrooms,
4-5 onions,
1 glass of milk,
150 g mayonnaise,
2 tbsp. spoons of cottage cheese,
2 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil.
Cut tomatoes, mushrooms, herring fillets and onions into small cubes. Grind mayonnaise with cottage cheese, butter and milk. Season the salad with vegetable oil.

"Red caviar"
Required Products:
herring - 1 pc.
butter - 200 g
processed spicy cheese - 1 cheese
medium-sized carrots - 1 pc.
Cooking method:
Boil the carrots until half cooked and cool. Peel the herring and cut into fillets without skin and bones.
Pass all products through a meat grinder and mix well.

Use ready-made caviar as an independent snack or for making sandwiches.

Meatballs "Bird's Nests"
Required Products:
salted herring - 200 g fillet
capers - 40 g
egg yolk- 4 things.
anchovies - 60 g
onion - 1 head
green salad leaves
Cooking method:
Finely chop the herring fillets, anchovies, onions and capers and mix.

Form 4 meatballs from the prepared mixture, placing a boiled egg yolk in the middle of each.

Serve the meatballs on green lettuce leaves.

Herring with potatoes
Required Products:
salted herring - 3 pcs.
potatoes - 8 pcs.

milk - 1 glass
vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. spoons
salt - to taste
Cooking method:
Fillet the herring with the skin on and soak in milk, then chop finely.

Thinly slice the onion and fry in oil.

Cut the potatoes into strips.

Grease the mold with oil and place potatoes and herring in layers. Sprinkle each layer with fried onions and finely chopped dill. Top with sour cream, beaten with egg.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 200-220°C.

Salad "Rus"
Required Products:
salted herring - 100 g fillet
pork or beef - 300 g pulp
pickled cucumbers - 3 pcs.
boiled egg - 2 pcs.
apples - 1 pc.
sour cream - 1/2 cup
grated horseradish - 2 tbsp. spoons
vinegar 3% - 1 tbsp. spoon
mustard - 2 teaspoons
dill greens
boiled potatoes - 3 pcs.
Cooking method:
Potatoes, 2 cucumbers, peeled and cored apple, boiled meat, herring and egg, cut into slices.

Combine the prepared products, season with sour cream sauce, whipped with vinegar, mustard and horseradish.

When serving, garnish with slices of cucumber, eggs and herbs.

Italian herring salad
Required Products:
salted herring - 300 g
boiled carrots - 1 pc.
canned green peas - 100 g
canned white beans - 100 g
boiled egg - 1-2 pcs.
tomato sauce- 2 tbsp. spoons
mayonnaise - 4 tbsp. spoons
parsley or dill
Cooking method:
Peel the carrots and cut into small cubes. Peel the eggs and chop finely. Strain the filling from the peas and beans.

Peel the herring from skin and bones, cut the fillet into slices.

Combine the prepared products and season with mayonnaise mixed with tomato sauce.

Before serving, place the salad in a salad bowl and garnish with herring slices and herbs.

Herring dishes are so popular in our cuisine that, perhaps, not a single holiday table is complete without it. wonderful fish. Simple and tasty herring dishes

It’s not at all difficult to prepare cold appetizers from salted herring, both for guests and just for dinner. There are many options for serving herring, and each time it will taste like a completely different dish.

Herring with apples

Ingredients:

  • herring fillet – 400 gr.
  • apple – 400 gr.
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs.
  • onions – 1 pc.
  • natural yogurt – 2 tbsp. l.
  • mustard – 2 tbsp. l.
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp

Peel and seed the apple, cut into small cubes, and immediately pour in lemon juice.

Finely chop the pickled cucumber, hard-boiled eggs and onions. Add yogurt and mustard, stir well. Cut the herring into small pieces and pour the resulting dressing on top. I recommend refrigerating it before serving.

Classic recipe for herring with onion and carrot marinade

Ingredients:

  • herring fillet – 400 gr.
  • carrots – 2 pcs.
  • onions – 1-2 pcs.
  • tomato sauce – 4 tbsp. l.
  • black pepper

Cut the onion into half rings. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry onions and carrots over low heat in vegetable oil.

At the very end, add tomato sauce and sprinkle with black pepper. Cool the resulting dressing slightly.

Cut the herring into small pieces, and place the fried onions and carrots on top.

Recipe for herring with carrots and raisins

A wonderful recipe, similar to the previous one, but raisins and nuts give the herring a completely different taste.

Ingredients:

  • herring fillet – 400 gr.
  • carrots – 3 pcs.
  • onions – 1-2 pcs.
  • raisins – 50 gr.
  • walnuts – 50 gr.
  • black pepper

As in the previous recipe, chop the onion and grate the carrots, fry until soft.

Pre-soak the raisins (about 50 g). Walnuts chop. We cut the herring, put it in layers in a herring bowl, put a layer of carrots and onions on top, then raisins, again herring, then nuts, then again carrots and onions on top.

For beauty, you can decorate with a mesh of mayonnaise.

Delicious recipe - herring salsa with bread crumbs

This gourmet recipe is made with mango, cucumber and rye bread.

Ingredients:

  • herring fillet – 400 gr.
  • mango – 1 pc.
  • fresh cucumber – 2 pcs.
  • red onion – ½ pc.
  • fresh cilantro – ¼ cup
  • chili pepper to taste
  • lime or lemon - 1 pc.
  • black pepper
  • rye bread – 3 slices
  • butter – 20 gr.
  • salt to taste

Line a baking tray with paper. Rye bread crush into crumbs by hand or with a food processor and mix with softened butter, add a little salt. Place in an oven preheated to 190°C for 15-20 minutes. After the bread is baked, it is advisable to grind the crumbs again using a blender.

Cut mango, cucumbers and onions into small cubes. Add chili pepper and chopped cilantro to taste. Stir everything and pour in squeezed lime or lemon juice.

Place the herring in the herring bowl at one end, and the mango and vegetables on the other side. Fill in the middle bread crumbs. Top with lime slices and cilantro leaves.

Recipe for pickled herring with oranges

When I tried to cook herring according to this recipe, I was convinced that cooked with such unusual marinade The herring turns out to be very aromatic and refreshing.

Ingredients:

  • herring fillet – 300 gr.
  • orange – 1 pc.
  • red onion – 1 pc.
  • For the marinade:
  • olive oil – 8 tbsp. l.
  • nutmeg – 1 tsp.
  • cilantro – 1 tsp.
  • brown sugar – 1 tsp.
  • soy sauce – 1 tbsp. l.
  • wine vinegar (light) – 1 tbsp. l.
  • juniper berries – 5 peas
  • lemon pepper - a pinch
  • black pepper - a pinch
  • salt – ½ tsp.

Cut the herring into pieces, the onion into half rings, and the orange into slices.

Prepare the marinade - mix all the ingredients of the marinade and heat slightly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool.

Place a layer of onions in a glass or ceramic dish, oranges on it, then herring, another layer of onions and cover with oranges on top.

Pour over the marinade and refrigerate overnight.

For guests on the festive table you can prepare very delicious snack from herring.

Festive herring sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • herring – 1 pc.
  • processed cheese – 100 gr.
  • pickled mushrooms – 50 gr.
  • dill greens
  • tomato – 1 pc.
  • rye or wheat bread according to your taste

Let's look at the recipe step by step.

Chop the pickled mushrooms. Processed cheese first remove it from the refrigerator, it should be room temperature.

Place herring fillets (both halves) between cling film and beat a little.

Brush the fillet with melted cheese, place chopped mushrooms on the cheese and sprinkle with dill.

Now the herring needs to be wrapped in cling film, try harder. For reliability, you can wrap it in several layers of cling film.

You will get two long herring rolls. Place in the refrigerator, or better yet, in freezer for a couple of hours.

During this time, prepare the bread. Using a glass, cut out circles of bread and brown them for 5-6 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees. Turn off the oven and keep the bread in the oven for a couple more minutes.

Cut the herring rolls into portions about 1 cm thick.

Spread each piece of bread with cheese and place a circle of herring roll on top.

Top with herbs, a slice of tomato or pickled cucumber.

Stuffed champignons

An original appetizer that will surely surprise your guests.

Ingredients:

  • herring – 1 pc.
  • fresh champignons – 20 pcs.
  • onions – 1 pc.
  • carrots – 1 pc.
  • red Bell pepper- 1 PC.
  • thyme – 1 tbsp. l.
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • sunflower and butter

For this dish, buy larger mushrooms from stores. Clean the mushrooms, cut out the stems, wash and dry the caps. Fry the caps for a few minutes sunflower oil. To remove excess oil, place mushroom caps on a paper towel.

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, and finely chop the onions, peppers and mushroom stems. Fry the vegetables in ghee or butter for about 10 minutes.

Cut herring fillet small pieces and combine with cooled vegetables.

All that remains is to stuff the champignon caps with herring and vegetables. When serving, you can garnish with green onions or any herbs.

Salad with herring and avocado

If you already have boiled beets, this salad can be prepared in 10 minutes. This salad looks very beautiful in portion glasses or wine glasses.

Ingredients:

  • herring – 300 gr.
  • avocado - 2 pcs.
  • beets – 2 pcs.
  • natural yogurt – 50 gr.
  • dill

Cut all ingredients into approximately equal cubes. Place beets at the bottom of each glass, followed by avocado and herring on top. Top with yogurt. Of course, yogurt can be replaced with mayonnaise. Garnish with dill. It is advisable to cool the salad before serving.

Appetizer of herring with beets and avocado

Ingredients:

  • herring – 1 pc.
  • avocado - 1 pc.
  • beets – 1 pc.
  • red onion – ½ pc.
  • tomato – 1 pc.
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp. l.
  • mayonnaise - 50 gr.
  • dill

In this appetizer, cut all the ingredients into thin slices. Slice the avocado and immediately pour lemon juice over it to prevent it from browning. Immediately place the appetizer on a serving plate. Place a thin layer of beets down, herring on top, grease with mayonnaise. The next layer is avocado, then a thinly sliced ​​tomato slice. Lubricate with mayonnaise again and now place the appetizer in the reverse order - avocado, mayonnaise, herring, beets.

You can decorate the top with finely chopped avocado. Keep in the refrigerator until serving.

Fried herring

The most unexpected dish that I tried for the first time in Lithuania was fried herring. This dish is traditionally prepared for Christmas in the Baltics, Belarus and Poland.

Ingredients:

  • herring – 4 pcs.
  • onions – 3 pcs.
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp. l.
  • breadcrumbs - 4 tbsp. l.

Remove the spine from the salted herring fillet, small seeds. Straighten the fillet, beat it lightly, roll in breadcrumbs and fry on both sides in sunflower oil until beautifully golden brown.

Cut the onion into thin slices and also fry in a frying pan.

When serving, place on the herring fried onion, pour lemon juice, garnish with a sprig of parsley.

Very tasty with oven-baked potatoes (in their jackets).

Snack cake

Herring cake is convenient in its presentation - there is both bread and herring at once, all that remains is to cut it into portions.

Ingredients:

  • herring – 250 gr.
  • red onion – 1 pc.
  • rye bread - 400 gr.
  • garlic – 4 cloves
  • butter – 100 gr.
  • Philadelphia cheese - 1 box
  • sour cream – 200 gr.
  • gelatin – 10 gr.
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • greens for decoration

We prepare the cake in stages. Grind the bread with a blender, add garlic passed through a press. Melt the butter, pour into the bread mixture and mix well. Place half of the bread mass in the cake pan, compact it a little and put it in the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, dissolve gelatin in warm water and cool slightly.

Cut the herring fillet and onion into small cubes, add sour cream, cream cheese, salt pepper. Pour gelatin into this mass and stir well. Place half of the resulting cream in a mold on a bread base and place in the refrigerator to harden.

Repeat this again, i.e. Place the bread mass on top of the frozen cream, cool and cover with herring cream on top.

Decorate to your liking.

Herring rolls in jelly

Ingredients:

  • herring – 4 pcs. (you should get 6-8 rolls)
  • onions – 2 pcs.
  • carrots – 2 pcs.
  • any vegetables - bell peppers, boiled cauliflower, chili tomatoes, green pea etc.
  • water – 1 liter
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
  • gelatin – 2 tbsp. l.
  • bay leaf – 3 pcs.
  • black pepper pot

Pour 125 g of gelatin. warm water, let it swell. Then heat the gelatin until dissolved. Boil the remaining water, add sugar, bay leaf and pepper. Cut the carrots into slices and throw them into the boiling marinade. Cook for 5-7 minutes, pour in vinegar, gelatin, stir and cool.

This dish looks beautiful in a ring shape. Place herring rolls there. Place carrots, vegetables, and herbs between the herring. Pour over the cooled marinade and place in the refrigerator overnight.

I would like to finish the topic “Herring Dishes” with a very popular and favorite dish – mincemeat.

The cooking principle is simple: all ingredients are crushed using a blender or passed through a meat grinder the old fashioned way.

Ingredients:

  • herring – 2 pcs.
  • onions – 1 pc.
  • green apple – 1 pc.
  • eggs – 2 pcs.
  • loaf - 3 slices
  • butter – 200 gr.

Boil the eggs first. Butter soften to room temperature. Soak the loaf pieces in milk for 5 minutes. Cut the herring fillet and onion into small pieces. Pass everything through a meat grinder or grind with a blender. Place the resulting mincemeat on a plate and place in the refrigerator to cool.

Decorate with greens.

Ingredients:

  • lightly salted herring fillet
  • lemon
  • green onions
  • mayonnaise
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • Borodino bread

Cooking method:

  1. Cut Borodino bread into thin slices, cut off the crusts and give the slices a rectangular shape.
  2. Cut the lemon into slices, then into quarters.
  3. Cut the green onion feathers diagonally into long pieces.
  4. Using a sharp knife, cut the herring fillet diagonally into beautiful slices.
  5. Grease the bread with mayonnaise. Place pieces of herring and a quarter of lemon on the bread.
  6. Place green onion feathers on the lemon.
