For economy salad we need

  • White cabbage – 200 g;
  • Cauliflower – 100 g;
  • Broccoli – 100 g;
  • Any smoked meat ( chicken leg or ham) – 100 g;
  • Mayonnaise - to taste;
  • Greens - to taste.

How to make coleslaw

  1. Grind the white cabbage on the smallest Burner attachment, or shred it very thinly and then cut it short.
  2. Separate the cauliflower and broccoli into florets and chop finely.

    Attention!
    Use only the soft “curly” parts of broccoli, or peel the stem part of the inflorescence from the top layer.

  3. Cut the chicken leg into medium cubes.
  4. Mix all the ingredients, season with mayonnaise, lightly sprinkle with chopped herbs (dill + parsley)

Cook's Advice
Another sauce for this salad can be a mixture of light French mustard and honey in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. This dressing will be especially tasty if we use several additional components.

The following inexpensive and simple products can be additional components for the New Year's salad:

  • sweet and sour apple, peeled and cut into small cubes;
  • canned corn or peas;
  • pickled mushrooms, washed from marinade and finely chopped.

Salad “Emerald Isle”: recipe with pineapples

  • Chicken breasts – 400 g;
  • White onion – 1 pc. medium size;
  • Cheese durum– 100 g;
  • Canned pineapples – 100 g;
  • Chicken eggs – 4 pcs.;
  • Kiwi – 3 pcs.;
  • Kari – 2-3 tsp;
  • Mayonnaise – 250 g;
  • Vegetable oil.

How to make an inexpensive, tasty salad

  1. Rub the chicken breast with curry, fry in a frying pan until cooked and cut into small cubes.
  2. Finely chop the onion, cut the kiwi and pineapple into small cubes.
  3. Three hard-boiled eggs on a fine grater.
  4. First, quickly freeze the hard cheese in the freezer and cut it into small cubes with a sharp knife - about the same as kiwi.
  5. We lay the prepared components in layers:
  • Layer No. 1 = chicken + ½ onion + mayonnaise
  • Layer No. 2 = pineapple + ½ onion + ½ kiwi and coat with mayonnaise on top
  • Layer No. 3 = grated eggs + hard cheese + mayonnaise
  • Layer No. 4 = kiwi - it was this structural green layer that became the basis for the name of the salad.

Agree, the very colorful result is worth spending a little money on - just 3 pieces of kiwi. But thanks to them, a cheap salad acquires a pleasant sourness and an unusual appearance.

You can also enhance the taste of the dish by actively peppering the layer of cheese and egg. Make the New Year easy on the hassle, budget-friendly and bright in taste!

Options for preparing budget salads

Try to change the most familiar recipes for cheap New Year's salads, because who, if not you, is well versed in the tastes of household members and friends?!

Vinaigrette in a new way

For example, otherwise prepare a vinaigrette.

Instead of cucumbers, add sauerkraut, and do not boil the beets themselves, but stew them with carrots, cauliflower cubes and a small amount of finely chopped onion.

Cubes of celery can also go there (half the size of beets and carrots). You won’t want to add potatoes to such a vinaigrette, but boiled beans or sunflower seeds will come in handy there. Eventually - new taste, a mystery of ingredients and no big expenses!

Inexpensive salad with crab sticks

Search fresh options with crab sticks. To do this, focus on them, removing other “heavy” components from the recipes - potatoes, eggs and meat.

One of the juiciest and cheapest options for New Year's crab salad:

  • finely grated white cabbage,
  • apple and orange, chopped into thin strips,
  • canned corn,
  • crab sticks, not very finely chopped.

Dressing = mayonnaise + pepper. You will need a Burner grater.

Simple and cheap sauerkraut salads

Everyone's favorite sauerkraut also comes to the rescue. It’s easy to bring it up to a festive level if you add an apple (thin straws), a little corn and coarsely chopped nuts.

At the same time, season with aromatic vegetable oil. An excellent combination of flavors will also be obtained if you add raisins, prunes, and dried apricots to the cabbage. Note that expensive ingredients are in small quantities!

And if you remember the recipes of our grandmothers, then the 3 cheapest ingredients (sauerkraut, boiled potatoes and onions) are an excellent base for delicious winter salad, which will not put the New Year's table to shame if it is offered to a rich hot meat - akin to baked chops or chicken legs.
